Catching up

So blogging has taken a back seat lately. Life is busy!! But I did want to post some Christmas pics. As the girls get older Christmas gets more fun. They loved all of the parties, the presents, the stories, the hot chocolate, the traditions, and even Santa Clause - which is a first in this family. I get a kick out of dressing them the same, I figure it wont be long until Adison revolts, but for now she is game. I LOVE CHRISTMAS TIME!!
Oh - and I have brown hair now. why not??

10 years and lovin it

On New Years Eve Zach and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary of our first date!!! We somewhat recreated the night - dinner and going to First Night. BUT we opted for Sushi instead of going to a family party for dinner, and Ryan Shupe and the rubberband wasnt playing this time, some lame Regae group... but First Night was fun, and cold. We walked around and listened to music and at about 11:40 I asked him what he wanted to do and he said “ I dont know” and I said “go to the car?”. SOOOO we didnt even stay for midnight - we are way beyond caring if we missed the magical moment - it was much more magical on 3300 south in our WARM car as we drove home. I am so grateful that he asked me out 10 years ago. He is such an amazing husband and I dont regret a single day of the past 10 years. I LOVE YOU!!

Trip to Akumal

We had yet another fabulous trip to the beach house. The weather was perfect and the kids had a blast. They literally spent 8 hours a day in the pool or playing near the pool. We mostly chilled at the house or at one of our other favorite beaches. Zach was able to swim with the dolphins at puerto aventuras and we took Maycie and Adison to Yal Ku - which is an amazing lagoon with thousands of beautiful fish. We bought little rafts that had windows in them for the kids to look through so they could see the fish. They are not quite snorkeling yet. We had a great time.
Alivia, Sophia and Libbie (Tyson’s twins) didnt drown in the pool, that was a huge success!! We put a tube on Alivia and she just swam everywhere thinkin she was the stuff! I couldnt get enough of her little legs kickin in the water.
Zach and I went to the bay next to ours and snorkeled and saw a beautiful Ray, squid, 3 sea turtles, a baracuda, and thousands of gorgeous fish. It is SOOOOOOOO stinkin fun!!! The kids loved going hermit crab hunting with Grandma and Grandpa at night with little flashlights my Mom gave them. You can find dozens of hermit crabs all over on the beach at night. Despite a rough night with Maycie running a fever of 103 and vomiting..... not my favorite thing in the middle of nowwhere in Mexico.... the trip was a huge success. I didnt even get sick of anybody. ok... maybe watching Logan and Tori got old... but besides that .. :) Thanks to my parents for flying us all down there!!!

Halloween

We had a really great Halloween this year. I went out on a limb and actually sewed Adison’s Sleeping Beauty dress (it turned out pretty good if I do say so myself..... OK, my Mom helped). I refurbished Maycie’s Belle costume - adding an entire new skirt because the other one was completely shredded. She looked adorable. Livi got the good ole Cow outfit - she kept the hat on long enough for a picture... and yes, she still has a binkie (her Mom is addicted to it). We had our traditional Halloween dinner with the Coreys - Mummy Dogs. They are such great neighbors! There were so many kids out and everyone had a fun time - no fist fights or vomiting glow stick liquid - so actually it was uneventful... which is the way we like it! Little “Belle” was so excited to go trick or treating that she didnt take a nap that day and she fell asleep in the middle of trick-or-treating!! She can fall asleep anywhere!! I should make a post of just the pics of her sleeping in strange places! Anyway, we had a really fun night.

YW Halloween

We had such a fun Halloween party! Our YW took “crazy” to heart and showed up in some great outfits. We played some really fun games and had tomato soup with eyeballs in it. I LOVE our YW group!!!!!

All right, if Zach is going to post bad pics of me then he is asking for it. Last year in Akumal, Zach had a midlife crisis and decided to bleach his hair - not such a good idea. I think he was going for blonde, but it turned out....well..... orange. He ended up wearing a hat the whole time - but not at this moment!!! You are hot hun!! Love ya!

We love the Fall

We love dragging our kids outdoors to do adventurous things, even though most of the time the moment doesn’t live up to our expectations due to whining or screaming or something of that sort. However, today in between conference sessions, we took the girls up Millcreek Canyon to the pipeline trail to enjoy the fall leaves. It is a little tradition we do each Fall. There is something magical about that canyon this time of year - every place you look is beautiful and unique. We love living close by and during the summer we try to go up there weekly. Anyway, this year we enjoyed the rain at the same time - we bundled them up and had a great walk through mud and puddles and piles of fluorescent leaves. It was great!!! And no whining! If you have any free time this week - go up Millcreek!!

Lake Powell = Heaven

We are so spoiled!! We have had some great trips this summer! It was so good to be back at Powell - Maycie was a newborn when we went last. It was fun to see my kids learn to love it like I do - the wind in your hair on a long boat ride, the beautiful red cliffs, and the kazillions of stars at night!!! We all slept on top of the houseboat - even Livi, in a portacrib - and it was so fun to stare at the stars - Adison lost track of how many shooting stars she saw. The “triplets” (Livi, and Tyson’s twins - Sophia and Libbie) sure kept us on our toes - but no one drowned or died from ingesting too much sand :). It was crazy but soooo fun. Oh - except the part that I thought I had broken my neck on the water weenie and am still in pain today from it. Other than that it was a great trip and we hope to not go another 3 years before seeing it again!

Go Wildcats

I cant mention Twilight without bringing up the excitement in our house for HSM3!!! Click on this entry to see an awesome picture of the cast!! The best is listening to my daughters get into a brawl over who will “be” Gabriela or Sharpay. Its enough to drive you insane. But.... we will definitely be in line for tickets to the new show - too bad Disney sold out and is releasing it in the theatres - I liked it much better when it was FREE.

Twilight excitement

Although the 2nd and 3rd books of the Twilight series were not my favorite, I did love the 1st and 4th and am super excited about the movie. The official website has some great clips of it and it shows them filming the movie. It seems like they are doing a great job. I don’t know if this guy lives up to Edward, but I dont know if anyone could. We shall see!!
