CHINA GROVE - Barry Jay Stewart, 44, of 185 Mary Esther Lane, died as a result of a motorcycle accident Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009. Barry lost his wife, Cindy Weddington Stewart, who was his passenger and partner in life, in the same tragic accident.

Cindy Dawn Karriker Stewart, 47, also of 185 Mary Ester Lane, died Monday, Aug. 10, 2009, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem due to injuries received in a motorcycle accident Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009, when her husband, Barry Jay Stewart, lost his life as a result of the same accident.

Barry and Cindy were married Aug. 8, 2008, and had just celebrated their first anniversary.

Barry was born July 6, 1965, in Cabarrus County, the son of Donnie Ray Stewart and Shelba Moss Arrington. He was owner/operator of Southern Automotive in Kannapolis. He was a faithful and active member of Judah Worship Center in Concord and was a loving father and son and treated everyone as if they were family. Barry died doing what he loved most, riding his Harley.

Survivors include his daughter, Shanna Stewart of Salisbury; father Donnie Ray Stewart and wife Sherrie of Charlotte; mother Shelba Moss Arrington of Kannapolis; brother Scott Stewart and wife Julie of Cornelius; and also his maternal grandmother, Edith Moss of Kannapolis.

Cindy was born June 12, 1962, in Iredell County, daughter of Paul Brown Karriker of Kannapolis and Ruby Lee King Karriker of Mooresville. She was a 1980 graduate of South Rowan High School and was owner/operator of a residential and commercial cleaning service.

She was a faithful member of Judah Worship Center in Concord.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons, Travis James Weddington and Joseph Dyland Weddington, and a daughter, Jessica Blair Weddington, all of China Grove; and a sister, Jeanie Lemmond and husband Jackie of Maiden.

Robert Martin "Bobby" Staley left this earth on 04/18/2009 in a tragic motorcycle crash. He was only 38 years old. He left behind a loving wife, two daughters, a mother and father and two brothers.

Bobby was a dedicated police officer with the Winston-Salem Police department. He was a member of the Blue Knights, a Law Enforcement motorcycle club.

Bobby had recently taken a leave of absense from his police duties due to his National Guard unit being deployed to Iraq. Bobby was a 2nd Lieutenant in the Guard and his unit was to have deployed on the Monday just prior to the Saturday that he passed.

Bobby was full of life and you never saw him without a smile on his face. When I think of Bobby, I think of a scene from one of my favorite movies, "Lonsome Dove." One of the characters had just buried a friend and had carved a head stone. "Cheerful in all weathers. Never shirked a task. Splendid behavior." That quote describes Bobby better than anything I can put together on my own.

Bobby was just riding his bike that Saturday afternoon...minding his own business...thinking about things he needed to set in order...thinking about leaving his family...when a man in a truck made a left turn in front of him. Bobby was clearly not at fault. People say that motorcycles are dangerous....and I guess they are. But most of the time, its not the motorcyclist that is at fault...its the other driver who usually says, "I just didn't see it (motorcycle)."

Bobby had no time to react. Butl, even with that in mind, it behooves us to be ever vigilant in keeping the other drivers in mind...because if you are on a bike and you get hit by a car, even if you are in the right....you will loose. Bobby would have wanted that said.

Bobby was my friend, and I will miss him. R.I.P Bobby Staley.

Eulogy for Rick Hall

Rick Hall Family and Friends:

I would like to express my sorrows and extend my condolence, my deepest sympathy to you on the passing of Rick Hall. My prayers and my heart are with you, for I share your pain.

One of the Greatest Gift and the most precious one can receive is the Gift of Life. For life has a plan for everyone! Be patient with life and life will be patient with you. Each moment is a precious gift, each year is a priceless treasure.

Life is so special and life is so beautiful. But life can be so cruel at times. It can take a love one away at any time. You can not take anything for granted!

We can get over the loss of a loved one! But we have to understand that the hurt and pain remains. And sometimes that is not easy. We all have to be flexible and have a positive attitude about our self and be strong for others. For it is not the end of the World. Always remember the good times your had with them. For the loss of a loved one will always remain in your heart. And the love for that one will always be there. For a memory is a treasure that survives.

I have learned in life that a little prayer and smile goes a long way. It will make you stronger. For one, friends help us deal with it. We would be lost without our friends! We all still have a lot tobe thankful for. Life will move on, time does not wait for anyone. Be patient enough to live one day at a time, letting yesterday to, leaving tomorrow until it arrives.

We lost Momma Duck on March 28, 2008 due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on March 22, 2008. She lived in Moncks Corner SC. She was the founder and President of the Swamp Fox Gypsies. We are Momma Duck's legacy. She worked long and hard so we could become the first all female full patch MC in the Charleston area. We were founded in 2008.
