Podcasting 101
Tuesday, June 1, 2010
If you are taking my podcasting class on Tuesday June 1st, I am trying to provide you with a list of links and examples that show some of the ways you could use a podcast with, and for, your students. this is based on the people that I know are coming at this point, so for those of you who do not have a set of resources listed below, please let me know and I will try to put something together for you. There are a few resources out there that I really like and appreciate like the Berkely Webcasting Links, the Apple Podcasting in Education page, and the Education Podcast Network among others. Podcasting can add a new dimension to your class.
Podcasts can be easily adapted for the following purposes:
English
- Book talks like this one presented by a high school librarian and student.
-Poetry readings and summaries like this one by yours truly.
-Dramatic readings, summaries, interviews, interesting reporting, grammar tips, and more.
History
-Historical personas like The Thomas Jefferson Hour
-Analysis of historical events, people, and inventions
-Economics
Math
Science
-Coverage of Chandra and other space missions
Family and Consumer Sciences
Music
Administration
-Information dissemination via announcements
-Professional development ideas and tools
