Aside – Reminder that iPod Shuffles make GREAT “books on tape” listening devices

    • $99 each (512MB – 120 songs), $119 (1GB – 240 songs)

    • Rip the books on tape to digital using almost any audio recording software

    • Currently working with Title I teachers on this process

    • iPod Shuffles will be checked out to students (next year) for in-room or in-school use.

    • May create a policy to checkout Shuffles to students for home use.

Apple’s GarageBand for Podcasting

    • Newest version (iLife ’06) is the one to use!

    • Has a “podcasting suite” built in.

    • Can record single or multiple voices.

    • Can record voices from iChat sessions.

    • Can integrate media from both iPhoto, iTunes and iMovie.

    • Can use the built-in microphone or external mics.

    o Might need a mini-jack to USB converter – Griffin Technology’s iMic ($40)

    • Upload to .Mac account easily or integrate on your school site as an MP3 file.
