What’s happenin’...
Growing up I can remember having great breakfasts on all the holidays and special occasions. That’s one tradition that I want to continue with my own kids, so we began our morning with blueberry pancakes with whipped cream and raspberries. Mark was pretty impressed. I think he liked the syrup and whipped cream best. (Imagine that!)
We spent the afternoon at a friend’s house for a cookout with some of our new friends from the Officer’s Christian Fellowship group. We’ve really enjoyed getting to know some of the folks through our Wednesday evening Bible Study and it was fun to take the kids to the picnic. Mark and Tim kayaked on the pond and didn’t even tip over. (Which I’m sure was a an impressive feat considering Mark kept leaning over to touch the water.)
Later that evening we went to a neighbor’s house and did sparklers and fireworks in their backyard. Mark enjoyed the fireworks, but was much more impressed with the new toys that they had to play with and the fact that it was 8:30 and he was not only still up, but playing outside. I think Luke actually liked the fireworks the best.
We hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!
