What’s happenin’...
Today Mark had a banner day. I don’t mean his behavior. I mean that Mark had about a good a day as a two year old can have around here. It started with getting to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse in the morning sitting on the couch with popcorn. Definitely a rare treat around here.
Then he got to help Mommy make cookies. I’ve never attempted to let him “help” me cook, but I’ve been working on giving him more responsibilities and thought this might be a good chance. He was very careful with measuring and pouring, but not a big fan of the mixer itself. In fact, he took off running when I turned it on.
But I think he became convinced that making cookies was a good thing when I broke out the chocolate chips. And as you can see, he was quite a fan of the cookie dough. And was asking the rest of the day to eat the beater again.
In case you are wondering, he was not exposed to salmonella by eating raw eggs. Mark is allergic to eggs so we use a great substituted called Ener-G and a little applesauce. The cookies turn out just like they would with eggs but it also allows you to eat the dough raw. After we finished mixing the cookies I even let him “help” wash dishes. My friend Sandra inspired me to try that one and he did really well. There was a great deal of water on the floor and he was drenched, but he had a good time.
Watching the cookie dough turn into cookies.
Eating our goods.
And to top it all off, we ended our day with pepperoni pizza and coloring with markers in the evening. It doesn’t get much better than that!

Mark’s best day
