Honing is primarily used to improve the geometric form of a surface, but may also improve surface texture.” - Wikipedia  The block is sitting inside of the honing machine. Notice the “torque plate” bolted to the top. The torque plate is used in a few different stages of the build process. The purpose is to simulate the tension of having the head bolted on to the block. If I did not have a torque plate, the machine shop would have had to make one. This one belongs to my friend Les.
