That white ring is actually a washer. The oil baffle is held down with 4 of the 5 bolts that hold the stock cover in place. The two “stands” supporting the crank each have sensors inside which sense the vibration of the crank. There is a crank position sensor at the near-end of the crank, which tells the balancer how the crank is positioned. The balancer uses load and position data to determine where holes should be drilled to remove balance the crankshaft (by removing weight).
