TWM Throttle Bodies

During the course of planning my engine build, I figured I should look into throttle bodies.  I read as much as I could online for quite a while.  Finally I picked up the phone and called one of the Miata shops known for their throttle body setups.  When I got the answering machine, I hung up.  I called several times over the course of a week and continued to hang up when the answering machine picked up.

Since Les has been running TWM’s on his Miata-based Locost 7 (Gibb’s “old” engine, I believe), I figured I would give them a call.  The phone rang twice before Garry Polled, the owner, answered.  I was very impressed with his professionalism, depth of knowledge, and willingness to help.  I was pleasantly surprised to learn that TWM’s pricing is actually very affordable.  The TWM kit includes a beautiful fuel rail (with quality AN fittings), rail-mounted adjustable fuel pressure regulator, and injectors.  Best yet, if I did not want the fuel pressure regulator or injectors, the price fell right in line with the other IRTB setups.  These other setups do not include injectors or a fuel pressure regulator, so the comparison is fair.  The price net of these items was about $1700, but in the end I sprung for the fuel pressure regulator.  I may even have to get the injectors if the RC-engineering injectors I have do not fit.

Well, the box arrived today.  True to my new photo-geek status, I started taking pictures before I opened the box.  All parts were very well insulated and packed, and the throttles, a thing of beauty!  The carbon fiber air box?  Pure sex.  :o)
