Crankshaft Issue

I got a call from Mike at ABT today.  The big end of the crank shaft, the surface that rides inside the rear main seal, is severely pitted.  It is a shame too, because the rest of the crank looks very good.


This crank cannot be used as-is, so there are a few options:

  1. 1.Use a different ’01+ crank, which I do not have

  2. 2.Use a 1994-1997 crank, which I do have

  3. 3.Sleeve the surface, which may take a while


Mike is researching options and I’ve got some homework to do too.
