Round 3 Results - Bangladesh scores posted only.

CRC A bt Bangladesh B, 3-0

Ramit Tandon bt Shohidul Islam, 3-0

Dalip Tripathi bt Md Shumon, 3-0

Kavi Seth bt W. Mather, 3-0

Tonight's highly anticipated matchup did not live up to its expectations.  The surprisingly talented Bangladesh B team could not keep up with the very best of Kolkata with the professional players on the CRC A team roster.  Tandon shut down Islam’s attacking game with savvy drops of his own and great deception.  Islam soon shut down mentally and conceded in straight games.  Shumon did much the same, mentally submitting the match and the body soon followed.  Mather put up a great fight as he countered the front court of current and multi-time Club Champion Seth.  In a very strategic affair, Seth went on to use the whole court with a win in closely contested straight games, showing why he is the Club’s #1 player.

Bangladesh A bt CRC B, 3-0

Shopon Pervez bt Mukun Khatian, 3-0

Masud Rana bt Chico Shroff, 3-0,

Raju Ram bt Prahsant Tibrawalla, 3-0

The second contest of the night took many by surprise as Bangladesh’s A team blanked CRC’s #2 team, guaranteeing a spot in the finals for the Bangladesh Squad.  While Bangladesh did not play profound squash, the team certainly capitalized on its opportunities to attack and put away points.  In game two of his match, Pervez clawed back from a 5-10 deficit to take the game, 12-10.  The superior fitness of the Bangladesh team enabled straight games victories that were closer than the final score line suggests.  An impressive win for the young squad from Dhaka leaves us all awaiting the semifinals, in which Bangladesh B faces Bangladesh A, and CRC B faces CRC A.
