A big upset occurred on the opening night of the tournament when Shahid Islam beat Vikas Agarwal 3-1.  It was a very convincing win and a real confidence builder for Shohid who has never played an international competition.  Vikas is CRC’s #5 player and demonstrated sound fundamentals of the game but could not keep up with the fitness and pressure of Shohid and his persistent volley drops.  Shumon continued the winning ways settling down and playing basic, high pressure squash to overpower Dhruv Agarwal.  In the dead-rubber match (Bangladesh won 2-0 by then), Mather was pressuring the big and strong Nikhil Khemka before getting struck in the face.  After taking an injury timeout Khemka went on to take the match.

Shopon Pervez bt. Anand Bajorla, 3-0

Masud Rana bt. Samir Ladsaria, 3-2

Raju Ram bt. Piyush Jatia, 3-0

Bangladesh A team cruised through, but Masud Rana nearly lost his match.  Samir Ladsaria’s serve proved to be all kinds of trouble for the undersized Rana.  He weathered the storm and came back to win.
