When You go home tell them of us and say for your tomorrow we gave our today

Tying moonbeams with a silken thread

Seling burgers at the hill of souls

Travelling round the dark side of our lives

Lightning from a clear blue sky - scambling my circuits and melting all my wires

The smell of rain on long dry earth

The purple sky of the lightning's birth

The ice cold touch of morning dew

These are the things that feel of you

You are the colour in my monochrome

You are the cheering in my velodrome

You are whisper of the softest shoe

These are the thing that feel of you

And when the dogs are black and life presses down

When my only feature is a frown

When all my fears are my very own

You are the harmonies in my monotone

sunlight through a thickets cloak

.... dancing in the smoke

Insects hanging in a beam of light

Feathers falling in mid-flight

Spiders webs with dewdrops hung

All I wanted was a simple tease

Then you reached inside - gave my heart a squeeze

She walks through the shadows in my mind

Her naked feet paint the morning dew with the soft strokes of a new day

There's a black dog walking through my waking dreams

There's a black crow sliding through the dying leaves

If...

The parasite that kills the host in small but lethal strikes

And all in the name of our right to know

I'll sit and search my barren brain for words that capture how I feel

I'll sharpen up my lowly wit, your image in my head a steel

I'll cut your silhouette from the fabric of a lonely life

and mount it on my castled soul

And those not busy buying are busy being bought (thanks Bob:-))

• My skin just aches

• Sliding down the sharp edge of a broken heart

• Take the colours from my life

•A prison's still a prison even when you can't see the bars - they'll keep you focussed on the distance so the bars are blurred

• They jerk you and they'll work you till your not sure where reality lies

Fairytale of New York

It was christmas eve babe

In the drunk tank

An old man said to me, wont see another one

And then he sang a song

The rare old mountain dew

I turned my face away

And dreamed about you

Got on a lucky one

Came in eighteen to one

Ive got a feeling

This years for me and you

So happy christmas

I love you baby

I can see a better time

When all our dreams come true

Theyve got cars big as bars

Theyve got rivers of gold

But the wind goes right through you

Its no place for the old

When you first took my hand

On a cold christmas eve

You promised me

Broadway was waiting for me

You were handsome

You were pretty

Queen of new york city

When the band finished playing

They howled out for more

Sinatra was swinging,

All the drunks they were singing

We kissed on a corner

Then danced through the night

The boys of the nypd choir

Were singing galway bay

And the bells were ringing out

For christmas day

Youre a bum

Youre a punk

Youre an old slut on junk

Lying there almost dead on a drip in that bed

You scumbag, you maggot

You cheap lousy faggot

Happy christmas your arse

I pray God its our last

I could have been someone

Well so could anyone

You took my dreams from me

When I first found you

I kept them with me babe

I put them with my own

Cant make it all alone

Ive built my dreams around you

Nothing Ever Happens ringtone

Post office clerks put up signs saying position closed

And secretaries turn off typewriters and put on their coats

Janitors padlock the gates

For security guards to patrol

And bachelors phone up their friends for a drink

While the married ones turn on a chat show

And they'll all be lonely tonight and lonely tomorrow

Gentlemen time please, you know we can't serve anymore

Now the traffic lights change to stop, when there's nothing to go

And by five o'clock everything's dead

And every third car is a cab

And ignorant people sleep in their beds

Like the doped white mice in the college lab

Nothing ever happens, nothing happens at all

The needle returns to the start of the song

And we all sing along like before

And we'll all be lonely tonight and lonely tomorrow

Telephone exchanges click while there's nobody there

The Martians could land in the carpark and no one would care

Close-circuit cameras in department stores shoot the same video every day

And the stars of these films neither die nor get killed

Just survive constant action replay

Nothing ever happens, nothing happens at all

The needle returns to the start of the song

And we all sing along like before

And we'll all be lonely tonight and lonely tomorrow

Bill hoardings advertise products that nobody needs

While angry from Manchester writes to complain about

All the repeats on T.V.

And computer terminals report some gains

On the values of copper and tin

While American businessmen snap up Van Goghs

For the price of a hospital wing

Nothing ever happens, nothing happens at all

The needle returns to the start of the song

And we all sing along like before

Nothing ever happens, nothing happens at all

They'll burn down the synagogues at six o'clock

And we'll all go along like before

And we'll all be lonely tonight and lonely tomorrow

Have fun and greetings from Germany

Thomas Bernard, Frankfurt/Main

Hey, Baby I just got back from town
where the bribes are paid
Honey, they turned my offer down
They say the deal’s already made

So now I gotta stand and watch
while it all comes down
and the buzzards and the hawks
and the judges and the mob
circle around

Now if I were the
queen of all the world
I
would go in chains
just to see you free

of the ropes that bind you
and the role you play
and the pride that hooks you
while the big ones get away

Love junkies wanna change the world:
it quickly stays the same
and money junkies hire all the smart ones
Power junkies run the game

One step at a time
Polarity Hill
If the bad guys don’t get you
then the good guys will

With angels on the take
and gangsters in the yard
Hey don't the wars come easy
Hey don't the peace come hard

And if I had a way
to reach the sky
I
’d grab that crescent moon
wield it like a knife
save you from the lies

From the ropes that bind you
and the role you play
and the game that hooks you
while the big ones get away.

Ride On

True you ride the finest horse I have ever seen,

Standing sixteen, one or two. With eyes wild and green,

You ride the horse so well, hands light to the touch,

I could never go with you no matter how I wanted to.

Ride on, see you, I could never go with you

No matter how I wanted to.

Ride on, see you, I could never go with you

No matter how I wanted to.

When you ride in to the night without a trace behind,

Run your claw along my gut one last time.

I turn to face an empty space where you used to lie,

And look for the spark that lights the night

Through a teardrop in my eye.

Ride on, see you, I could never go with you

No matter how I wanted to.

Ride on, see you, I could never go with you

No matter how I wanted to.

No matter how I wanted to.

And in the evening when the sun goes down
                  G              A                                D
We'll make love to the sound of the ocean

They're raising banners over by the markets
Whitewashing slogans on the shipyard walls
Witchdoctors praying for a mighty showdown
No way our holy flag is gonna fall
Up here we sacrifice our children
To feed the worn-out dreams of yesterday
And teach them dying will lead us into glory...

Chorus

Now I know us plain folks don't see all the story
And I know this peace and love's just copping out
And I guess these young boys dying in the ditches
Is just what being free is all about
And how this twisted wreckage down on main street
Will bring us all together in the end
And we'll go marching down the road to freedom

TITLE: Bee's Wing

Lyrics and Chords

I was nineteen when I came to town

They called it the Summer of Love

They were burning babies, burning flags

The hawks against the doves

I took a job in the steamie

Down on Cauldrum Street

And I fell in love with a laundry girl

Who was working next to me

/ D Bm D - / / / A - G - /:

{Refrain}

Oh she was a rare thing, fine as a bee's wing

So fine a breath of wind might blow her away

She was a lost child, oh she was running wild

She said "As long as there's no price on love, I'll stay

And you wouldn't want me any other way"

/ Bm - - - D - - - / Bm A G A G - - - / 1st /

   / Bm A G A G - D - / Em D G A G - D - /

Brown hair zig-zag around her face

And a look of half-surprise

Like a fox caught in the headlights

There was animal in her eyes

She said "Young man, oh can't you see

I'm not the factory kind

If you don't take me out of here

I'll surely lose my mind"

{Refrain}

...So fine that I might crush her where she lay...

We busked around the market towns

And picked fruit down in Kent

And we could tinker lamps and pots and knives

Wherever we went

And I said that we might settle down

Get a few acres dug

Fire burning in the hearth

And babies on the rug

She said "Oh man, you foolish man

It surely sounds like hell.

You might be lord of half the world

You'll not own me as well"

{Refrain}

...So fine a breath of wind might blow her away...

We was camping down the Gower one time

The work was pretty good

She thought we shouldn't wait for the frost

And I thought maybe we should

We was drinking more in those days

And tempers reached a pitch

And like a fool I let her run

With the rambling itch

Oh the last I heard she's sleeping rough

Back on the Derby beat

White Horse in her hip pocket

And a wolfhound at her feet

And they say she even married once

A man named Romany Brown

But even a gypsy caravan

Was too much settling down

And they say her flower is faded now

Hard weather and hard booze

But maybe that's just the price you pay

For the chains you refuse

{As Refrain}

Oh she was a rare thing, fine as a bee's wing

And I miss her more than ever words could say

If I could just taste all of her wildness now

If I could hold her in my arms today

Well I wouldn't want her any other way

TITLE: The Dimming of the Day

Lyrics and Chords

[Capo 3]

This old house is falling down around my ears

I'm drowning in a river of my tears

When all my will is gone you hold me sway

I need you at the dimming of the day

/ C - G - / F C G - / 1st / F CG C - /

You pull me like the moon pulls on the tide

You know just where I keep my better side

/ G - D - / G - D GC F - /

What days have come to keep us far apart

A broken promise or a broken heart

Now all the bonnie birds have winged away

I need you at the dimming of the day

Come the night you're only what I want

Come the night you could be my confidant

I see you on the street in company

Why don't you come and ease your mind with me

I'm living for the night we steal away

I need you at the dimming of the day

I need you at the dimming of the day

To Make You Feel My Love - Bob Dylan

When the rain is blowin' in your face

And the whole world is on your case

I could offer you a warm embrace

To make you feel my love.

When the evening shadows and the stars appear

And there is no one there to dry your tears

I could hold you for a million years

To make you feel my love.

I know you haven't made your mind up yet

But I would never do you wrong

I've known it from the moment that we met

No doubt in my mind where you belong.

I'd go hungry, I'd go black and blue

I'd go crawlin' down the avenue

No, there's nothin' that I wouldn't do

To make you feel my love.

Though storms are raging on the rollin' sea

And on the highway of regrets

Though winds of change are throwing wild and free

You ain't seen nothin' like me yet.

I could make you happy, make your dreams come true

Nothing that I wouldn't do

Go to the ends of the Earth for you

To make you feel my love

Here is a revised version of the version that is in the chord archive.

I looked at the chords for the Billy Joel version to catch some of the

inversions and bass notes, and then arranged it in Db for the guitar and

to my tastes.

Song: The Big Ones Get Away

A great song and it's so easy to play along with.

C Am F G and listen for the changes

C Am

Hey, Baby I just got back from town where the bribes are paid

                               F G

Honey, they turned my offer down they say the deal's already made

                         C           Am

So now I gotta stand and watch while it all comes down

                         F                                           G

and the buzzards and the hawks and the judges and the mob circle around

Now if I were the queen of all the world I would go in chains just to see you free

of the ropes that bind you and the role you play

and the pride that hooks you while the big ones get away

Love junkies wanna change the world: it quickly stays the same

Money junkies hire all the smart ones Power junkies run the game

One step at a time Polarity Hill

If the bad guys don't get you Baby then the good guys will

With angels on the take and the gangsters in the yard

Hey don't the wars come easy Hey don't the peace come hard

Now if I had a way to reach the sky

I'd grab that crescent moon wield it like a knife save you from the lies

From the ropes that bind you and the role you play

And the game that hooks you, while the big ones get away

Hum (Ohhh oh oh oh nd repeat)  play C Am F G into fade out

May you never by John Marytn was originally played in D, I think, but this is transposed for easy playing, put a capo about fret 4.  played in C you can still do a few pull offs that retain the flavour of the song, and its a lot easier to bash out, but I'll post the D version too with tab.

I stood up on a cypruss stump

I listened close and I heard the ghost

"Live This Life"

Met a man on the street last night

Said his name was Jesus

Met a man on the street last night

Thought he was crazy till I watched him heal a blind man

Watched him heal a blind man now I see

I live this life until this life won't let me live here anymore

Then I will walk yes I will walk

With patience through that open door

I have no fears, angels follow me wherever I may go

I live this life until this life won't let me live here anymore

Met a girl in a chair with wheels

But no one else would see her

Met a girl in a chair with wheels

Everyone was so afraid

To even look down on her

And she just spread her little wings and flew away yeah

I live this life until this life won't let me live here anymore

Then I will walk yes I will walk

With patience through that open door

I have no fears, angels follow me wherever I may go

I live this life until this life won't let me live here anymore

Met a kid on a bridge last night

Contemplating freedom

Met a kid on a bridge last night

And he said

I'm tired of this maddening life

And I'm ready to go meet Jesus

And I said he's a friend of mine

Met him just last night

And it's alright

Yeah it's all right

Yeah

I live this life until this life won't let me live here anymore

Then I will walk yes I will walk

With patience through that open door

I have no fears, angels follow me wherever I may go

I live this life until this life won't let me live here anymore

Live here anymore

Capo on 1st fret

The Key is Eb

Intro: |D A|G A| 2x

D      A          G             A           D    A G A

It's amazing how you can speak right to my heart

D        A         G           A            D   A G A

Without saying a word you can light up the dark

G                     A

Try as I may I could never explain

D       A               G          A

What I hear when you don't say a thing

Chorus:

      D               A          G             A

The smile on your face lets me know that you need me

            D             A          G             A

There's a truth in your eyes saying you'll never leave me

   D              A                 G                  A G A

A touch of your hand says you'll catch me if ever I fall

D    G                 A                     (Intro)

Now you say it best, when you say nothing at all

All day long I can hear people talking out loud

But when you hold me near you drown out the crowd

Old Mister Webster could never define

What's being said between your heart and mine

To Ramona – Bob Dylan

Note: These are the basic chords of the song.  Strum these and you'll be fine.  There

however moving notes within the chords, for example there is a 0--2--3 movement on the 4th

shortly after hiting the G chords, and sometimes the 3rd fret of the 4th string will get

while playing a C chord.  Listen for those little things if you want to be exact.

C                   G

Ramona come closer shut softly your watery eyes.

                                                         C

The pangs of your sadness will pass as your senses will rise.

F                   G

The flowers of  the city though breathlike, get deathlike sometimes.

But aint no use in tryin’ to deal with the dyin’

                                 C

Though I cannot explain that in lines.

Your cracked country lips I still wish to kiss, as to be by the strength of your skin.

Your magnetic movements still capture the minutes I’m in.

But it grieves my heart love to see you trying to be a part of a world that just don’t exist.

It’s all just a dream babe, a vacuum a scheme babe.

That sucks you into feeling like this.

I can see that your head has been twisted and fed with worthless foam from the mouth.

I can tell you are torn between staying and returning on back to the south.

You’ve been fooled into thinking that the finishing end is at hand.

Yet there’s no one to beat you, no one to defeat you.

‘Cept the thoughts of yourself feeling bad.

I’ve heard you say many times that your better than no one and no one is better than you.

If you really believe that you know you have nothing to win and nothing to lose.

From fixtures and forces and friends your sorrow does stem.

That hype you and type you makin’ you feel

That you gotta be just like them.

I’d forever talk to you but soon my words would turn into a meaningless ring.

For deep in my heart I know there’s no help I can bring.

Everything passes, everything changes, just do what you think you should do.

And someday maybe,  who knows baby.

I’ll come and be crying to you.

St. James Infirmary

Traditional blues

       Dm      A7          Dm

I went down to St. James Infirmary.

          Gm       A7

I saw my Sweeheart there.

Dm    A7   Dm

Lying on a table,

            A7        Dm

So cold, so white, so fair.

             A7      Dm

I went up to see the doctor.

              Gm      A7

``She's very low'' he said.

  Dm           A7     Dm

I went back to see my baby

                      A7           Dm

And great God she was lying there dead

I went down to old Joe's bar room.

Down on the corner by the square.

They were serving drinks as usual

And the usual crowd was there.

On my left stood Joe MacKennedy.

His eyes were bloodshot red.

He turned to the crowd around him

And these were the words he said.

Let her go. Let her go, God bless her.

Where ever she may be.

She may search this wide world over

But she'll never find another man like me.

When I die please bury me

In a high top stetson hat.

Put a gold piece on my watch chain,

So the boys will know I died standing pat.

Get six gambelers to carry my coffin.

Six chorus girls to sing my song.

Put a jazz band on my tail gate

To raise hell as we roll along.

This is the end of my story

So let's have another round of booze.

And if anyone should ask you just tell them

I've got the St. James Infirmary blues.

Far Far Away - Noddy Holder and Dave Lea

Intro:

Bm  A  Bm  A  Bm  A

              Bm               A               Bm     A

I've seen the yellow lights go down the Mississippi

              Bm             A                      Bm   Bsus2 Bm

I've seen the bridges of the world and they are for real

           G                 A                D     Dsus2  D

I've had a red light off-the-wrist without me even getting kissed

   G                A

It still seems so unreal

I've seen the morning in the mountains of Alaska

I've seen the sunset in the East and in the West

I've sang the glory that was Rome

And passed the 'Hound Dog' singer's home

It still seems for the best

        D    D/C# D/B  D/A

And I'm far, far away

        G              A

With my head up in the clouds

        D    D/C# D/B  D/A

And I'm far, far away

        G                A

With my feet down in the crowds

        D       D/C#     D/B  D/A

Letting loose around the world

        G               F#

But the call of home is loud

         Bm    A  Bm   A   Bm   A

Still as loud

I've seen the Paris lights from high upon Montmartre

And felt the silence hanging low in No Man's Land

And though those Spanish nights were fine

It wasn't only from the wine

It still seems all in hand

And I'm far, far away, &c...

I've seen the yellow lights go down the Mississippi

The Grand Bahama Island stories carry on

And though those aligator smiles

Stay in your memory for a while

There still seems more to come

And I'm far, far away &c...

(twice!)

Sunny Afternoon

The Taxman's taken all my dough and left me in my stately home

Lazing on a sunny afternoon

And I can't sail my yacht, he's taken everything I've got

All I've got's this sunny afternoon

Save me, save me, save me from this squeeze -

I've got a big fat momma trying to squeeze me

And I love to live so pleasantly, live this life of luxury

Lazing on a sunny afternoon

In summertime, in summertime, in summertime

My girlfriend's gone off with my car and gone back to her ma and pa

Telling tales of drunkenness and cruelty

Now I'm sitting here, sipping at my ice-cold beer

Lazing on a sunny afternoon

Help me ,help me, help me sail away

You give me two good reason why I ought to stay

'Cause I love to live so pleasantly, Live this life of luxury

Lazing on a sunny afternoon

In summertime, in summetime, in summertime

Darling tonight I am reminded how much these two hearts need romance
You know it isn't all that often we get this kind of chance
Why don't we get caught in this moment be victims of sweet circumstance
Tonight I feel like all creation is asking us to dance

There'll be time enough tomorrow to get back to our daily bread
But there's something bout this evening that put this notion in my head
That heaven and the earth are meeting tonight upon this very spot
And all the things on earth worth having are things that we've already got

Darling tonight I am reminded...
Why don't we get caught in this moment...

G                C                 G                D   D7

Sometimes in our lives we all have pain We all have sorrow

G                C                 G                D7  G

But if we are wise  We know that there's always tomorrow

        G                   C                       G

Lean on me, when you're not strong And I'll be your friend

              D     D7 G               C                   G        A7      D    G

I'll help you carry on For it won't be long 'Til I'm gonna need Somebody to lean on

Please swallow your pride If I have things you need to borrow

For no one can fill those of your needs That you don't let show

Lean on me, when you're not strong And I'll be your friend

              D     D7 G               C                   G        A7      D    G

I'll help you carry on For it won't be long 'Til I'm gonna need Somebody to lean on

If there is a load you have to bear That you can't carry

I'm right up the road I'll share your load If you just call me

So just call on me brother, when you need a hand - We all need somebody to lean on

I just might have a problem that you'd understand - We all need somebody to lean on

        G                   C                       G

Lean on me, when you're not strong And I'll be your friend

              D     D7 G               C                   G        A7      D    G

I'll help you carry on For it won't be long 'Til I'm gonna need Somebody to lean on

Everybody [Dm]knows that the dice are loaded.

Everybody [Bb]rolls with their fingers crossed.

Everybody [Dm]knows the war is over.

Everybody [Bb]knows the good guys lost.

Everybody [Gm]knows the fight was [A]fixed:

The poor stay [C]poor, the rich get [Dm]rich.

That's how it [Eb]goes.[A]  Everybody [Dm]knows.

Everybody [Dm]knows that the boat is leaking.

Everybody [Bb]knows the captain lied.

Everybody [Dm]got this broken feeling

like their [Bb]father or their dog just died.

Everybody [Gm]talking to their [A]pockets.

Everybody [C]wants a box of [Dm]choc'lates

and a long stem [Eb]rose.[A]  Everybody [Dm]knows.

Everybody [Dm]knows that you love me, baby.

Everybody [Bb]knows that you really do.

Everybody [Dm]knows that you've been faithful,

[Bb]give or take a night or two.

Everybody [Gm]knows you've been discret,[A]

But there were so many [C]people you just had to [Dm]meet

without your [Eb]clothes.[A]  And everybody [Dm]knows.

{c:Chorus:}

Everybody [F]knows. Everybody [C]knows. That's how things [Dm]goes.[C

[Bb]Everybody [F]knows.

Everybody [F]knows. Everybody [C]knows. That's how it [Dm]goes.[C]

 [Bb]Everybody [F]knows.

{eoc}

?[Dm]And everybody [Dm]knows that it's now or never.

Everybody [Bb]knows that's me or you.

And everybody [Dm]knows that you live forever

when you've [Bb]done a line or two.

Everybody [Gm]knows the deal is [A]rotten:

Old black [C]Joe's still picking [Dm]cotton

for your ribbon and [Eb]bows. [A]  And everybody [Dm]knows.

Everybody [Dm]knows that the plague is coming.

Everybody [Bb]knows that it's moving fast.

Everybody [Dm]knows that the naked man and the woman

are just a [Bb]shining artifact of the past.

Everybody [Gm]knows the scene is [A]dead,

But there's gonna [C]be a meter on your [Dm]bed

that will dis[Eb]close[A]  What everybody [Dm]knows.

And everybody [Dm]knows that you're in trouble.

Everybody [Bb]knows what you've been through,

from the bloody [Dm]cross on top of Calvary

to the [Bb]beach of Malibu.

Everybody [Gm]knows it's coming a[A]part:

Take one [C]last look at this sacred [Dm]heart

before it [Eb]blows. [A]  And everybody [Dm]knows.

This version is more loyal to the cover of this song performed by a country

singer on the "Tower of Song" album. There's a chorus section in the original I

can't figure out, and I'm pretty certain it's out of key, but it sounds ok like this.

Verse:

G                               C                     G

I loved you for a long long time I know this love is real

G                                               C                  G

It don't matter how it all went wrong that don't change the way I feel

G                        B7                        C                     G

And I don't believe that time is gonna heal this wound that I'm speaking of

G                           D                   C                  G

There ain't no cure, there ain't no cure, there ain't no cure for love

Verse

Chorus:

               Em            B               C         G

There ain't no cure for love, there ain't no cure for love

Ain't Gonna Be Treated This Way

I'm a-going down this old dusty road
I
'm a-going down this old dusty road
O Lord God
And I ain't gonna be treated this way

I
'm a-going where the dust storms never blow
I
'm a-going where the dust storms never blow
O Lord God
And I ain't gonna be treated this way

My children need three square meals a day
My children need three square meals a day
O Lord God
And I ain't gonna be treated this way

I
'm a-looking for a job and honest pay
I
'm a-looking for a job and honest pay
O Lord God
And I ain't gonna be treated this way

Dealin' card games with the old men in the club car.

Penny a point ain't no one keepin' score.

Pass the paper bag that holds the bottle

Feel the wheels rumblin' 'neath the floor.

And the sons of pullman porters

And the sons of engineers

Ride their father's magic carpets made of steel.

Mothers with their babes asleep,

Are rockin' to the gentle beat

And the rhythm of the rails is all they feel.

CHORUS

Nighttime on The City of New Orleans,

Changing cars in Memphis, Tennessee.

Half way home, we'll be there by morning

Through the Mississippi darkness

Rolling down to the sea.

And all the towns and people seem

To fade into a bad dream

And the steel rails still ain't heard the news.

The conductor sings his song again,

The passengers will please refrain

This train's got the disappearing railroad blues.

Good night, America, how are you?

Don't you know me I'm your native son,

I'm the train they call The City of New Orleans,

I'll be gone five hundred miles when the day is done.

Everybody's Messing with Fire

Well there’s some high and mighty people

In this big judgemental world

They got morals, to which they must aspire

But these high, mighty people

They find it so distressin’

That everybody’s messin’ with fire

Well you told me lotsa stories

You said, “Look, but do not touch.”

Well, babe we all do things we don’t admire

So don’t sit there and plead with me

Just hush your mouth, take heed of me

Cos everybody’s messin’ with fire

It’s the same kinda hunger, but I guess it’s hard to name

But you’ll know when you start dancing to it’s tune

And it’s true there’s always something, somewhere

Waitin’ to burst into flames

Mrs Holier-Than-Thou, look who’s got the matches now!

See how the people

Are carrying secret dreams

Look at all those hearts out there for hire

Well, look at all those creeping hands

That never learned their lesson

Cos everybody’s messin’ with fire (Haaaaa!)

You know those history books have told us

That since this world began

Oh-so-many fingers have been burned

So who are you to tell me how

To live my life right here and now

Take a good look down this list, baby we’re all arsonists!

They called me Satan’s other child and said Id burn in hell

But sugarplum I know you’re just a liar

Cos God gave me his blessin’

To keep you people guessin’

But everybody’s messin’ with fire

Cos everybody’s messin’ with fire

Oooh, everybody’s messin’ with fire
