Caritas Germany invited a 4-member delegation of staff from the North Korean Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) to visit health and social institutions in Germany. During 10 days in August the National Reference Center for Mycobacteria at Borstel, the Public Health Department of Frankfurt City, the Endoscopy Department of Juliusspital at Würzburg, the TB- and Thorax-Center at Münnerstadt, the Aids Counseling Center at Würzburg and the Caritas Shop at Würzburg were visited. The Medical Mission Institute at Würzburg organized the tour. During discussions with experts the visitors showed special interest in issues related to the development of the Center for Communicable Diseases of MOPH.
