In a visit to Pyongyang from June 08 to 12 further  plans for the Tuberculosis Program and the Hepatitis B Vaccination Program were discussed. At present the extension of the HB Vaccination Campaign to the Provinces Pyongan-Namdo and Pyongan-Bukdo is at a standstill as the shipment of vaccine and syringes are hampered by the present serious political crisis.

For the first phase of the Campaign the North Korean Health Ministry presented the positive resume. One month after completion of the vaccination in Pyongyang area 1.500 children of all target age groups were randomly selected in five schools for anti-HBs testing. Overall seroconversion rates were reported as 97.4 % for boys and 97.6 % for girls.
