“A rarity among Boulder musicians”

-The Daily Camera

“These guys can really play.  They have a true sense of improvisation, not just in the jazz sense, but within the folk genre they are playing in as well.”

-Riff Magazine

“Artists with great potential who show deftness and flexibility in their varying voices.”

-Westword Magazine

"It's folk music with a flourish. They embue the singer-songwriter genre with enough personal touch to (mostly) escape the clichés which plague that sound. The eerie intro to the first track, "Dirt," is a great entrance to the rest of the CD. In particular I liked the 10th song "Strange Behavior," with its guitar sound reminiscent of the Indigo Girls...joined by Jesse Varner on bass and Lisa Haney on cello, Wadi Rum's songs make good listening."

-Stella Meredith, Hyperactive Music Magazine, May-June 2005

"At the moment Wadirum doesn’t have a nationally charted single, but that didn’t stop them fromcreating an honest and fulfilling record. Wadirum’s self-titled album is a thoughtful organic collection of songs decorated with a range of harmonies and melodies. My favorite, track 12 “let it go”, immediately grabbed my attention, offering up familiar situations and bright falling guitars. My mind couldn’t help but wonder throughout the CD, drifting through the intentional and unintentional nuances of its guts. Stewart Erlich and Jill Pilon showcased their incredible vocal talents atop a twisting blend of guitars, embracing bass-lines and heartstring-pulling cello intonation. Songs of introspection, love, and loss, told in the fashion of American music adorn this straightforward CD from these soon-to-be’s."

“This unique quartet plays a blend of funk-infused folk, which, as clever as it reads, doesn't really capture the bands' sound. Jazzy acoustic-electric lounge music? Forget it. You'll have to come up with your own catchy label. Make sure it includes Jill Pilon's tremendous voice control and ability to sustain powerful high notes, Erlich's playful ease with his guitars and his textured tenor voice that matches harmoniously with Jill. Don't forget Lisa Haney's souful cello chords and Varner's steady bass.”

-Erik Maulbetsch of The Yellow Scene

“Wadirum is a jazz-folk group from Boulder who combines rich vocals with acoustic guitar melodies and cello work. Wadirum plays their own originals of rock and funk and are a staple in acoustic venues in the Boulder/Denver area.”
