June Report
Greetings,
Saturday was a beautiful day and the twenty-six souls present had a beautiful time.
The Rev. Christopher Leighton blew us away with the power of his inspired teaching, and leading the group in prayer and in special healing prayer. You Had To Be There.
He and his lovely wife Janet were a joy to be with and they seemed to enjoy Timothy and Vermont immensely.
The thrust of his teaching was based on the Gospel reading from Luke 7:36-50 about the Pharisee who invited Jesus to his house for dinner and the nameless woman transformed by Jesus who wept when she touched his feet. Fr. Christopher took the reading apart piece by polished piece to deliver his message about the power of the Holy Spirit infusing lives who are open to it. He made us laugh when he imagined God taking a dipstick and poking it into our selves to see how filled up (or not) we are with the love of God. The point is to be filled up to the brim and overflowing.
He also spoke about the Church and spread encouragement in our ranks as he talked about the Anglican renewal and spiritual revival he is seeing taking place. St. Paul's Darien is growing, as are other churches which are Jesus centered, biblically based, and teaching the truth according to the Word.
Dwight assisted and made impeccable preparations for the day's service. We also applauded Kathy's musical contribution. We are blessed to have them both as part of Timothy. Elizabeth was a gracious hostess for the event and everyone pitched in to lay a sumptuous table and to clean up afterwards.
We had the service indoors and then went out on the broad porch overlooking the lake for our meeting.
Christopher took questions to start the meeting and there was a great deal of interest in what is going on in the Network and the Anglican Communion.
Ann gave the Treasurer's Report: in brief, we have Net Income of $1,967.86 as of May 31. The freewill offering at today's meeting was $480.00.
Mission work: we sent a box of new donated Bibles to the church in New Orleans where we sent the box of winter clothes. What happened to the idea of donating Bibles to Archbishop Nzimbi in Kenya? Or how about sending summer clothing to the church in New Orleans? If you bring them to the July 21 meeting, Bill and I will take them to UPS to send.
Next Ann reported for the Planning Committee, who are pleased to report that we have monthly meetings scheduled through the end of the year as follows:

The two Bible study groups gave a report on what they are doing: Timothy West is studying the Nicene Creed and Timothy East is studying the Book of Jude. The question of a Spiritual Gifts Workshop is still open for planning.
It was a lively meeting. Christopher reminded us all that we're not in control of how "the mess" is all going to work out: God is. He spoke about the emerging ministry of business men and women in the marketplace as a driver of the spiritual reawakening in America. He also said that litigation won't stop the spiritual hunger or the spiritual movement in this country. God is bringing in the harvest.
Elizabeth spoke convincingly that prayer is the weapon of our warfare, that it can tear down strongholds of lies and deception and she offered a prayer to back it. up.
Some people stayed on longer to talk about plans for the August 10-11 ACN -NE event in Vermont and took on assignments, You will hear more about that so stay tuned. Every Timothy member has a gift, just as Peter always tells us, and everyone can help contribute in some way.
Have a good week. Enjoy the beauty of God's creation in all its rich greenness!
Ann
