We went to Tuscany for a week and stayed in a really nice B&B, la Residenzia del Sogno, near the village of Castellina in Chianti. Obviously, it was in the Chianti region. Nora made great breakfasts!
Our week in Tuscany
A Tuscan landscape
Our apartment
We had a room with a view.
All the rooms were named for grapes. This was David and Rita’s.
The B&B from the hill behind
This was the main entrance to our three-room apartment. It was named Cabernet.
The pool
It was rather cool in the evening.
We had a visitor the first morning
We called the trip “Hydration sleep-away camp,”
which produced yet another memorable public toilet moment.
The cathedral in Siena. They use a lot of the green marble in the stripes.
il Campo di Siena -- horse races twice yearly in this space
“Our” village of Castellina in Chianti at night
Ho hum -- Another stunning Tuscan view
My girls again
Votives in a u/i cathedral
Becky and Mom try to get free drinks.
It really leans!
But then so do all the buildings in that big open space.
I went to an Etruscan museum. It was fascinating!
Etruscan flooring
Rita and I took a walk through the vineyard across the road. It made here sneeze.
We saw flowers typical of the region.
We saw grapes.
And olive trees in bloom.
Then we came home, landing in Charleroi.
