The One Last Time Trip

Bernkastel-Kues 2010

We couldn’t resist taking one last trip to Germany before going home. On Saturday morning we were near Duisburg so that Rita could shop one last time for Polish pottery. It was not a cute area. That afternoon we drove to Bernkastel-Kues in the Mosel Valley, which is the very definition of cute, for one last dose of Germany. We paid extra for a river view and a balcony.

Our hotel, the Drei Könige (the Three Kings) in Kues, from the Bernkastel side
Our Moselblik room
Our blik of the Mosel
Bern Kastel
Bernkastel, acrosst the Mosel
Vineyard blik
Vineyards on the edge of town (if Bruce Springsteen had grown up here instead of Jersey)
In the stairwell of the hotel
Sarah Lee Street - hahahahaha! I crack me up.
World Cup fever German style - lots of this action everywhere
World cup fever on sale--because your team has been a disappointment
The Mosel River - costarring David
Coal barge - We didn’t expect the Mosel to be quite so commercial. But water is water from a transport point of view.
But there was indeed lots of German cuteness
More cute
Even cuter
But the cutest I brought with me.
Even a Frenchman commented on how cute it was
Somehow it just doesn't get boring.
Here begins a series of Bernkastel in the falling twilight.
