Does Jesus Matter?

If God were knowable, would you want to know Him?  Would you want to know what He desires for your life?

There are a lot of ways we could potentially learn about God, but imagine if we could see Him.  Imagine if we could witness God actually walking among us.  In essence that is who Jesus is.  He is God’s Son to be sure.  But we are also told that He is the exact representation of God (see Hebrews chapter 1) and He did walk this earth (see John chapter 1).

So not only does He show us what God is like and what He desires for our lives, He is also the only one that can make it possible for you and I to be in an honest and fulfilling relationship with God.  This is not based on something you and I do, but rather on the fact that He lived a life true to God’s standards and was willing to take our place in standing before God.  He received our offenses against God (what the Bible calls sin) and gives us true hope, significance, and purpose from a real relationship with God in its place.  

So in this day and age you may ask, “What’s the catch?” No catch. Just a gift received by faith and a desire to turn away from your ability to make sense of this life and seek God instead.
