Region 2AA Jazz Contest Results

Congratulations to WHS Jazz I for taking home a “Superior Rating” at the 2009 Region 2AA Jazz Contest on Monday at Dassel-Cokato High School! They were one of a handful of groups to receive this rating for an outstanding performance.

Congrats to WHS Platinum Jazz for a fine performance on Monday as well! They were awarded an “Excellent Rating” for their performance!

1st WHS Hockey Pep Band Ever!

The WHS Pep Band performed at it’s first ever home hockey game. Due to the construction of the Waconia Ice Arena, the WHS hockey team now plays just across the street! Excitement was in the air as the pep band filled the new arena with up-tempo music to pump up the Wildcat hockey team.

Many pep band members had never been to a hockey game before!

Pep Band Plays at Target Grand Opening

The WHS Pep Band recently performed at the new Waconia Target for their “VIG Night.” A good time was had by all! Go Target!

2008 Region 2AA Solo/Ensemble Contest

CONGRATS TO ALL WHO PERFORMED AT THE REGION 2AA SOLO AND ENSEMBLE CONTEST!

On Friday, April 4th, 38 WHS students travelled to MSU-Mankato to perform in this year’s Region 2AA Solo and Ensemble Contest. Each of them performed a solo or small ensemble piece, and were evaluated by one judge. The following students received Superior ratings:

Brittany Sellman (12)/Tyler Stevenson (11)- duet
Brittany Sellman (12)- solo
Kara Breska (12)- solo
David Klingelhutz (12)- solo
Shane Segner (10)- solo
Addison Born (12)- solo
Ashley Tuley (12)- solo

In addition, two students were named “Best in Site, “ which means that their judge deemed their performance to be the best of the day at that site. The two that received this top honor were Shane Segner and Kara Breska. Congratulations! This is a HUGE honor!
