So we’re off and running on the kitchen remodel. The “Photos” page and the “My Albums” pages show you step by step progress as we go along. Riley decided to get on my Mac and create a Blog. Here you will see some regular updates and comments as our days progress.

No more coiled snake of a tube behind the fridge for the ice water. Now we have a nice valve with a convenient turn off right in the wall behind the fridge. It’s the little things in life that make me happy! And really when you think of it, nothing’s too good for that gorgeous Electrolux frenchie - it demands the right accessories!!

Today was supposed to be the day that the electrician wrapped up the changes to our new lighting options. Unfortunately, we got hit with another winter storm which has dumped over a foot of snow on everyone. His kids are off school on a snow day so we wait until Monday for the work to be done. Peter Lavrisha has been wonderful. His work is awesome. He’s reliable and even cleans up when he’s done. He will get the highest recommendations from us.<br/>

Had to dig out the old Rice Cooker. I haven’t used this in years as I am trying to get away from Aluminum pans. The boys are glad I kept it - they thought they were going to do without their brown rice for a while. It worked beautifully, Sully and Riley are not missing the stove and cooktop any longer.

The Electrolux Appliances are truly a thing of beauty. They were far and above superior in craftmanship, detailing and appointments over the myriad appliances I considered. The Europeans truly know how to take a common, ordinary, every day appliance - one meant for functionality - to a whole new level. I’m in love with this company. The oven, a beautiful and happy European blue, convects; warms; slow cooks; defrosts; dehydrates; proofs; broils; multi stages; makes a perfect turkey; and oh yes, it bakes too.

So we got a call from Loren asking us to come out to his shop. He had something he needed to run by us and had some questions... or so he said. He had the best surprise! The row of cabinets that will house the pantries, refrigerator, and microwave/appliance area was ready for priming. The pictures don’t do it justice, I took it with my Cell, it does give an idea though... soooo exciting. It’s a massive thing which goes right up to the ceiling. He explained how he was going to get it in and up in place but I glazed over. Not sure how this will happen but we have the utmost faith in Loren.
