I made this picture on a cloudless day (unusual!) in Louisiana, on my way home from a photo shoot at the Louisiana Correctional Services prison outside of Eunice, La.

The Shady Willow was a popular stop many years ago (if the old stories are correct) for lawmakers not willing to stay in town to, uh, enjoy themselves.

I have no idea to whom that pertains or if it’s even true. I heard it at a gas station down the road.
