UFOs frogged and new projects started

2010 is my year to get control over my ufos. I can say that I have successfully frogged 2 projects and am working with another ufo. I am very proud of myself to say the least because it means that I am getting control over my projects. What you see before you is a start of a new sock. This is a basic gusset sock and the yarn is Opal Yarn this is the new Antonia Yarn. I am liking how this knits up. It reminds me of a pair of blue jeans and with the yellow stripe it is my U of M socks. :) In the coming weeks prepare to see a completed UFO. More later

A UFO not an UFO anymore

This is a scarf that I started back in 2007 but with one thing and another got forgotten but one of my goals for this year was to complete some of those UFOs. This is a Chevron Scarf from the book Last Minute Gifts. The yarn is from Knit Picks. The colors are called Morning Glory and Hawaii. I still have some of both and will be making socks with the yarn along with other ideas. I am happy it is done and am glad it turned out well.

1st completed knitted project for year

One goal I have set for myself this year is to knit a pair of socks each month so that by the end of the year I have 12. What you see is my first pair. The yarn is Opal’s Rainforest yarn and the pattern is one of Wendy Knits. This is my first exposure to dk weight yarn. It wont be my last. This stuff just flies. The best part I have enough yarn left that I am going to make a scarf with it. I could have tried to have them match but I really couldn’t waste this yarn. It is so pretty.

So how is your year going so far? Mine it is going ok so far. I do want to share my first completed project for this year. I can say it is not knitting either. Oh well. This is a little tatting motif that was done in the Lizabeth thread that is starting to show up in some of the craft stores. The pattern came from a great book called Tatting for the tree. One of my goals for the year is to tat more and maybe by next Christmas have ornaments for a tree. This turned out good I think. More later.

Goals for 2010

New Year comes with resolution making but I really don’t like that so I am going to make goals that I should be able to achieve. I want to knit 12 pairs of socks, 1 pair a month. I want to work on my wips including finishing most of what I have on the needles and crochet hooks. I want to get back to tatting and make ornaments for my tree next xmas. Lastly I want to and hope to get a new job in 2010. Will this all happen I can hope and pray. I will post in the next day or 2 some tatting I have done.
