My cousin Christian says that since I am now one year old it must mean that I’m not zero anymore  He’s much older than I am so he must know what he’s talking about.

I'm not zero anymore!

Then Grandma called me and said I should come to Florida for my first birthday.  Grandma said she had arranged a couple of surprises for my birthday.

I’m no fool, off to the airport we went!  I love staring at airplanes.  I wonder where I got that from?
I received my very first birthday card and present from Farmor and Farfar. It was a very nice card from my grandparents who live all the way in Denmark.

I’m a slow reader and they wrote a lot.
I couldn’t believe my eyes...

Grandma had arranged a huge parade for me.  There were flags, trucks, kids, and candy everywhere.
As soon as we stepped off the plane in Florida Mommy went weird on me.  Anyone know what “y’all” means?
Daddy, DADDY!
Grandma was marching in the parade with the Ham club.  I love ham, yummy!
Granddad was pulling the Ham club trailer with his car.  A man sat at a desk in the trailer.  I think he’s the one you order the ham from.
Grandma had arranged the next surprise to happen down at the beach.  We were all milling about waiting to see what it was.
Let me go Daddy! I do too know how to surf!
Roger, 10-4 NASA, Erik has arrived, we are go for launch.
Way out there in the distance we saw it.  The shuttle Discovery shot high into the sky.  Grandma and Granddad must know some important people.
To Grandma’s house!!

My cousin Sami knows the way.
Cake!!!
One, two, ...
Christian, on the count of three, not two.  No cake for you!!
My favorite surprise of all was this cardboard box.  Did you notice a grill came in this box.

Next blog I’m going to tell you about heading out for BBQ.  I’m one now, I eat everything.  You can’t eat everything when you’re zero.

Thank you everybody for making my first birthday the best ever!!!
