I recently had a bride and groom come to me with a sad wedding disaster earlier this year. They asked me to created a wedding bouquet and bout to retake their wedding photos with. They chose this time to use a wonderful photographer Kansas City Wedding Photography Sarah Dickerson. We used green orchids, and whites in roses, ranunculus, freesia, lisianthius, lambs ear and carnations to represent the flower in her mothers bouquet. Can’t wait to see the photos when they are done. Melissa is a dear friend from high school. So it was a honor to be able to be apart of this special day with her. Her color palette was in soft romantic peaches, blush pinks, ivory, browns and taupe's. We filled her bouquet with cafe dahlias, garden roses,spray roses, lisianthius, lambs ear and mint. We surprised her with lavish table arrangements in tall mahogany wood pillars will cascading vines and candle lit votives along with urns filled with flowers from her bouquet and unique and rare blooms as well. Katie and Mitchell are both engineers so we incorporated Gears in Katie’s bouquet and in Mitchell’s boutonniere. She also custom designed her cake topper into a gear with the new married name. Melinda’s Wedding was held at the Unity Village - Ceremonies in the rose garden. Melinda’s wedding was a vibrant classy wedding with fun accents. Her Tiffany blue with true red, yellow and orange accents was striking. I had the Honor and privilege to be part of the greatest love story I have ever heard on Saturday July 1st 2011. My dear friend and colleague Alea Looney of Alea Lovely Video/photography married the love of her life. Alea’s love story is an Amazing one of love found and the struggle to bring it together. She met Piotr, on line while she was teaching english to others around the globe. After visiting Poland with a friend a while later they realized there was something special there. After several years of trying to get visas and all the paper work to go through to get Piotr here to the states, they are finally together at last. The love felt by all who attended was profound from this couple. Being a video/photographer of weddings herself, Alea had a vision of what her special day would look like. In a forest setting with a vintage flair we placed a fireplace mantle, European settee/chairs, and rod iron candelabras to frame the couple.
The Flowers were in lavender, peach, blush pink with silver/gray accents. Her bouquet was accented with a doily that Piotr’s grandmother made especially for Alea before she passed away. Lauren’s Wedding was held at The Terrace on Grand. With beautiful colors of Ice blues, pale pinks and whites/ivories. Above & Beyond Wedding Consultants, LLC did an amazing job a usual with the planning and is always a fun team to work with. Delicious and beautiful cake by Andrea at Classic cakes.
Lauren’s Bouquet was filled with dusty pinks and ivories in roses and calla lilies. Her Bridesmaids carried bouquet with blues, pinks and white/ivories in Hydrangeas, roses, delphinium, freesia, and lisianthius. Orchids were used in the reception to add purple hues in trees with lanterns and lighted bowls. White orchids lined the aisle and black rod Iron candelabras overflowed with white hydrangeas and roses. Little boys carried a garland in white and the flower girl a white pomander. I have been in this industry for many years now and Photography is very important in a wedding. Yes, most would think I would say flowers but in the end when it is all over the only thing left to remind you years from now how special your day was is the photography. With todays technology I would have to say videography is now right up there on the list of importance. I know I look back some 14 years later at my video of my wedding now and then. Ashlea’s wedding was held at Longview Mansion - Contact Us Her colors were beautiful lavenders, lilacs with hints of blush pinks and ivories with a splash of chocolate brown. Willow branches were filled with lanterns and blooms inside and out. The bridesmaids carried rose pomanders on strands of pearls. A willow arbor with floating blooms framed the couple and round pomanders lined the aisle later to fill nests in the reception. Stone urns overflowed with flowers as trees budded with blooms and lanterns. The bouts were done in a unique cone shape overflowing with herbs and berries. What a perfect last fall day in October. Melissa’s wedding was held at a cute quaint church in Grain Valley called Acquaint Gathering Home. It was an outside wedding in a true fall themed style. We had so much fun decorating and setting up for this wedding the rain held off just long enough for a beautiful ceremony. We used many seasonal flowers such as mums, dahlias, lilies, hydrangeas, and beautiful chinese lanterns. with accents of pumpkins and gourds.
