With nearly fifteen years teaching experience, violist Christina Maradik has past performance experience with ensembles including Reno Philharmonic, Sarah Brightman, Vox Musica, and Alexander String Quartet. Beside traditional concert hall settings and ensembles, Maradik records extensively with indie-pop bands, regularly performing with Baby Grand, Doom Bird, and Sal Valentino (The Beau Brummels, Stoneground).
Not limited to music, Maradik is passionate about visual culture. Extensive study of (post)modernism in the Americas and Europe lead to curatorial work and research, eventually providing a platform for her own expression: painting and drawing.
In teaching viola and violin, her primary objective is to teach each student to teach themselves - instilling the skills needed for approaching music, when there is no teacher to help during the many hours of practice it takes to recreate written sound.
Currently, Maradik is a freelance violist and aids the Presidio Middle School Orchestra.
