Mezzo-Soprano Kate Davis is a varied and active performer, at home with opera, concert, jazz, Broadway, and ensemble singing. Miss Davis’ operatic credits include Cornelia in Handel’s Giulio Cesare, Baba in The Medium, Mother Jeanne in Dialogues of the Carmelites, and Amahl in Amahl and the Night Visitors. Her musical theatre credits include Philia in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, Annie Oakley in Annie Get Your Gun and Aunt March in Little Women.
In the summer of 2010, Miss Davis attended the CoOPERAtive program at Westminster Choir College and the RESONANZ Albany Singer Intensive in Albany, New York. Miss Davis recently placed second in both the Art Song and Aria divisions at the Bay Area National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) annual competition. She has been awarded grants from the Anna Sosenko Assist Fund and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music Professional Development Fund.
Miss Davis has been a teacher of voice for many years now. Her students are taught a solid technique on which all styles of music can be sung in a healthy manner and with great artistic intent.
Originally from Loveland, Colorado, Miss Davis is holds a Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico.
