Joanne Jeehee Yeh was born in Seoul, Korea. At the age of four, she started her studies in piano. At the age of six, she won numerous local competitions and performed in concerts in Seoul, Korea. At age of eleven, she was privileged to study at Ye-won Arts School under Professor Wan-Kyu Chung.

 

After immigrating to the states in 2000 with her family, she studied under Sherry Curry and Erna Gulabyan in SF Conservatory Preparatory Program. She received the Music Teacher's Association of California Scholarship in 2002. She also has been an active pianist and an accompanist with the Concert choir, Chamber Singers, and orchestras at Henry M. Gunn High School in Palo Alto; she was supported to travel for concerts in NY and Hawaii.

 

Currently, she holds a Bachelor of Music from Indiana University of Bloomington Jacobs Music School studying with Prof. Shigeo Neriki. She is also a recipient of D.L. Herriman Music Scholarship, Music Faculty Award, E.H. Claus Scholarship, and Founders Scholarship. She also won the Indianapolis Matineee Musicale Collegiate Competition in Feb. 2009.
