It never fails. I call Directv for something, and then they come and then there's a reason to not do the job.

On Saturday, I was supposed to have HD installed. 8-12 was the time frame. When I woke, it was cold out, but no signs of snow. I waited. Around 10:15 I got a call from the tech, and he said he'd be about 30-45 minutes. And it started to snow.

The tech showed up around 11:00 and said he needed to work fast because the snow was coming down fast and thick. After about 20 minutes, he rang the door bell. He said that he could either try or not. He seemed to be asking me, but I couldn't tell him anything. I told him to do whatever he thought. Apparently not able to make his own decision, he called his supervisor. After that he said he was packing up and leaving.

It didn't snow much at all after about 1:00, and hasn't snowed since.

I had to reschedule. We'll see if it happens this Saturday. What's the forecast, again?

So I will. I'm just going to say that I am having to deal with a co-worker purporting that we have a joint project going on, when I am doing all the work. It's like I am in high school and assigned a group project and, as some have experienced, that one or two people do the work. That's me.

I have come home more exhausted than I have in a while. All because of this.

============

I am looking into another source of income. That being doing sports paintings. I have tried to find a way around going through the Collegiate Licensing Company to do this, but I don't think I can. The application for the CLC is daunting. I'm not sure I have all the answers. What's my blood type again?

I tweet. I facebook. I podcast. I post pictures...and I used to blog. I blogged first may years ago when we were planning our wedding. And over time, I was replaced, because after tweeting all day, i didn't think I had much to say.

Then the other day, I cam across old blogs from 5 years back. 5 years... and it rekindled my desire to blog. I can't promise once a day or once a week... but I can promise that it won't be 6 months.

So if there is anyone still checking... and why would you be? I am sorry for being negligent. And I am back.

As we were talking out of the corner of my eye, I see something familiar. It was a drawing I had done (the one above) and it was among other WVU pictures on the menu of the bar. I picked it up to show Rachael.

Noe, I use a picture of the drawing as a "signature" on WVU message boards. And I know if you put a photo or picture out there on the internet, it can be used (I do it all the time). I wasn't mad that the picture was on the menu...yet.

Rachael, out of curiosity, went to the bartender and asked questions about where they got it and all - only to find out that the owner of the bar claims he drew it (he wasn't there). That's when I felt a little anger. I mean it's one thing to pluck a pic off the internet. It's another to claim creating of the art.

And it's not like I would sue or anything, they aren't selling the picture, and I'm not even really sure the bar owner claims that he drew it. I'm just not sure how to feel about the whole thing.

Sunday – For our anniversary, I got Rachael tickets to the “Old Skool” hip-hop, rap concert featuring: Young MC, The Sugar Hill Gang, Rob Base, Naughty by Nature.

We get there around 6 or so, and grab a beer and are in the doors by 6:30ish. That’s not really important.

The concert was in the WVU practice facility. I had never been there before, and neither had Rach. The ground was covered in field turf, and pretty comfy. We were kind of standing and waiting for things to happen, and this is when we start watching people. Both of us do this. We look around and stumble upon a story developing and kind of watch what happens. And we stumbled upon one.

In front of us and to our right there were 4 people sitting on the ground. 3 guys and a girl. Well, one of the guys and the girl start making out. Laying down on the field turf, and making out. I said to Rach sarcastically, “If we’re lucky we’ll get to watch those two have.” We laughed and talked and walked to the back of the building to grab a couple more drinks. In line, I can still see these two kids, and now the guy is on top of the girl and they are making out.

We walk back to the spot where we were, and we see another guy (obviously a friend) come over and grab the making out guy and pull him away. This was the first time I got a good look at his face. Not only was this guy 16 or 17, but he was trashed on something. His eyes were spacey, and he looked pale, and was obviously wasted. After a couple minutes, he comes back for more making out. But now he isn’t on top of the girl – we think his friend may have said something to him about looking like an idiot.

Then after a few, a woman – who was there for the concert and looked about twice this kids age went up to him and tapped him on the shoulder. She knew this boy somehow. I don’t know if she was a friend of his mom and dad, , or maybe an aunt or something, but they knew each other for sure. The kid gets up and walks with the woman over to her friends, where she introduces him. Remember, this kid is wasted.

So they talk for a moment or two. He’s doing his best to pretend to be sober. The woman points to the girl lying on the ground 15 feet away and says something like “Is that your girlfriend?” (I’m reading lips, not hearing them). To which he walks over to get her. The woman turns to her friends and says “He is soooo fucked up.” Then they all laugh a little. I let Rachael know that the woman knew he was wasted. I like that this woman was having fun with it.

The kid gets his girlfriend off the ground, and she is looking extra classy with the back of he shirt pulled far down and she starts to re-adjust it as she walks over. She exchanges introductions with the woman and her friends. After a couple moments she turns her back to the group, and I can see her face.

Now, I don’t know how many of you have witnessed the look of someone who is about to vomit from intoxication. I’ve only seen it a couple times. It is very recognizable and distinct…and this girl had it. As soon as she placed one hand on the cardboard trash can, I told Rach that she was about to be sick.

I should mention that the woman and her friends were slightly behind us, almost over Rachael’s right shoulder. So I could turn to her, and see them – and it would basically look like I was looking at Rach. If Rach looked, it would be too obvious. I got a picture that way:

Anyway, the girl then starts to throw up, while standing upright. I don’t know if she was trying to hide the fact that she was puking from the people her boyfriend knew, or what – but by the second go around, she was bending over. I was taking quick peeks, because I don’t want to watch someone vomit.

Rach and I started laughing a little. And when I turned back the kid and his girlfriend were walking away. We wondered if they were going somewhere to make out some more. Rach didn’t think so because she had gotten sick. I thought that he may have been so wasted that he didn’t care. Regardless, we didn’t see them again that night.

All of that happened in less than 30 minutes. The show started around 7:00.
