USAF Air Police Commemorative 50 Year Badge
USAF Air Police Commemorative 50 Year Badge
The first official United States Air Force (USAF) Air Police shield was presented to the Air Police Marshall, Brig Gen R. F. Burnham by the Vice Chief of Staff of the AF, General Curtis E. LeMay in 1959.
Air Police, Security Police and Security Forces; titles of honor, dignity and duty describe us. Punishing campaigns in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and a multitude of others have demanded of us.
Afterburners booming, klaxons sounding, and sirens wailing have toughened us. Rounds impacting, ordnance exploding, and bodies bleeding have steeled us. Desert heat, Arctic cold, tropical rains and blinding snow have numbed us. Hardships continuous, praise scant, and demands immense have bent but never broken us.
This commemorative shield honors all who have toiled, sacrificed and survived the crucible to emerge as the dedicated and proud defenders of the force. (Written by one of our very own, a Chief's Chief, Walter Stolpa Jr., CMSgt, USAF Retired.
This beautifully crafted commemorative USAF Air Police Commemorative 50 Year Badge was designed to honor all our police men and women who have dedicated and sacrificed their service to the USAF Police career field.
