Welcome to the TMHS Choral Department web site! We are so excited for the up-coming year and are looking forward to a more technology integrated experience. This year, we are hoping to link all notices sent home with music students on a "Important News" page. This way parents or students who are out sick or who have lost their handouts, can look on-line to find them there!
Also on this page, you will see important updates, but don't forget to check the above links often for more detailed information. Things like homework pages, concert schedules, forms, fundraising info. and more can be accessed there.
We will also be looking for more parents to volunteer their time and services within the Music Department. There is no better way to show your support of your performing student than to make it all possible behind the scenes! We thank you in advance for that support.

Music Department Philosophy
The Arts are universal forms of expression necessary for understanding nature, human nature, and their relationship to humanity. We believe music is a unique form of communication through which students can express themselves and understand the expression of others. Music education provides opportunities for students to observe, listen, create, and to recreate perceptions, ideas and feelings.
Thompson Public Schools recognize that, in an ever-changing cultural and technological world, students must be enriched through the study of music in order to gain an understanding and appreciation of life. Arts education is a key component for the development of the total child. It is the medium through which students can learn, understand, and value other cultures, as well as participate in and contribute to their own. Finally, it is through Arts education that artistic intelligence is developed so that informed aesthetic choices can be made, and the individual can enjoy a lifetime of varied musical experiences.
