Saw a meme going around on the top ten myths that need mythbusting in education. I decided, without being tagged, to add to the conversation.
So, without any particular order of importance, is my top ten myths of educational technology training that need busting:
1.All teachers want to learn how to put technology into their lessons.
2.Teachers today are digital immigrants with no idea how to use technology.
3.Technology training does not need to show how something works in the classroom.
4.Teachers need to know how to use all programs that their students use.
5.Staff Development for technology should be isolated from other taught curriculum.
6.All technology training should be face to face.
7.Classrooms need lots of technology to teach with technology.
8.No one else is using technology, so I don’t need to learn it.
9.Technology is so fleeting, as soon as I learn it, it will be useless for my students.
10.Technology training is a one-shot deal.
