Embodiments of Silence
Embodiments of Silence
Embodiments of Silence is both a fully produced choreography created for the stage (1996) and the same work transposed for the screen and realized as a dance film (2008). See the promo video!
Abstractly narrative and semi-autobiographical in nature, Embodiments was inspired by early twentieth-century anecdotes about life in the rural South. Characters suggest familial relationships and choreographic choices often reference the completely symmetrical genealogy of the director/choreographer, born on the sun and moon of Libra.
