Today is the day that Kingston Leul Thorne’s adoption is finalized. What a blessing he is to our family and once again I can say with all confidence what a joy it is to call him my son!
We also have gone back on the WAIT LIST for our 7nth child (3rd adoption). When I was on the wait list for Kingston I was having a quiet time and was brought to tears with the feeling that there was also a young girl waiting to be part of our family. I knew only by the power of God would it happen because only He could change my husbands heart and it would be a miracle for him to agree to a #7. Well God did just that....changed his heart and we are both very excited to see our little girl who is waiting for us in Ethiopia. She is 4 to 7 years old and we are praying that God is preparing her heart and ours for this special transition.
This week we also spent some time with the Alexanders who were visiting California! It is always a blast to hang out with them.

all of us at the court house BOWLING

Many of you know I am not the best blogger. I am doing most of my updating on facebook so if any of you want to visit over at facebook you will find me at Pam Thorne.

Blessings!
I had to set up the program therefore I was delayed 1 day. So here are a few photos from our week.
We are hoping to have our home study written up this weekend and then to Gladneys for review. I am super excited for a special family that has just started the paper chase for the first time. Until she “they” announce it I cannot tell you who it is but we are praying that some how, some way, may be we can adopt cousins! That would be very cool!

Our time continues to fly by and I am just trying to keep up with the pace. Jared and Taylor continue surfing and have been posting great results. Savannah is back in gymnastics full time and is competing Level 9. She has state next week, then Regionals and on to Level 10! Charis is loving school and piano and is enjoying her 2 days a week of gymnastics with her sissy. Caden is still surfing but has also taken up golfing with his older bro’s. He loves it and says he dreams of being Tiger Woods. His new vocabulary consist of Nike and Callaway. Kingston Leul (we still call him both) is full of energy. He “tries” to golf and can stand on a boogie board in his kiddie pool. This is huge progress from 10 months ago when we picked him up from ET and he couldn’t even climb onto a chair or bed. He is also doing quite well on his skate board.

We have had the great privilege to hang with Carey and Tigist (who is just home from ET). She is such a joy and Tigist and Savannah have had a great time making crafts and trying to communicate. Kids are so good at this.

Steve is busy at work trying to keep things going, as most everyone else. We have managed to continue to get some quick get-a-ways but nothing like Michael and Laurie Hausam’s!

Just in case any of you have read this far.... The big news is we are on the paper chase again. Believe it or not we are headed back to ET for a little girl between 4 and 7. Please join us in prayer that this sweet girl is in a safe place and God is begining to prepare her heart for our family and her new life in the USA. I have powered through the paper work and I am almost done. Just waiting on an updated home study to get Gladney approval, CIS approval and the Dossier complete.

I have purchased a new camera and my goal is Foto Friday. Not sure it will happen but we shall see.

Blessings to you all!

My daughter reminded me this morning that it has been a long time since my last post. In November we headed over to Hawaii for Thanksgiving. All of my sisters(3) and there families, as well as my parents joined us. We were 27 in total and it was a great time with all of the family. I stayed on the island for a month and came back to the mainland for my husbands Christmas party and our annual Christmas Eve at my parents(tonight). Christmas day we will head back over to the North Shore for a few more weeks.

People ask me all the time how the transition is going with Kingston. I can honestly say it is better than we ever imagined. He is fitting right in... throwing fits, hitting and saying words that I am sure he never heard in Ethiopia. He has decided it is easier if someone feeds him and has become picky with his food choices. He loves to go in the “beep-beep” (car) and is very attached to his older sister Savannah. He cant wait to go in the “a-bah-be-lah” (which means airplane/not sure where that word came from) and likes to be served apple juice. He ask for his drink before the plane even takes off. He loves to laugh and play jokes. He loves to dance to music and isn’t very happy if someone turns it off. He was quick to figure out my iphone and loves to be in charge of taking pictures. Thank goodness for digital and the “trash”/delete button! His strength has increased tremendously and he has become a very out going, fun loving sweet heart! He loves to look at pictures on the computer of all of his friends from Ethiopia and waves hi to them all with a huge grin. So precious. God is so good.

We look forward to what God has for us in 2009. Jared and Taylor will be getting their drivers license, Savannah will turn 13(our first teenage girl) and the 3 little ones will keep us on our toes. We are hoping to travel to Rwanda with Family Life and present some marriage conferences, and hopefully this will allow us to stop in Ethiopia. And as usual, life will continue to be very busy.
Blessing to all

PS... I am thinking I need to go stalk Laurie Hausams house just so I can see the “JESUS” house!

I cant believe how quick the time passes. I feel like I just posted but it has been over a month. If anyone is still checking in here is what has been happening in our crazy lives.
Our boys have made it to 15 1/2 and that means driving permits! It has been interesting sitting in the passenger seat after so many years! I think I am going to burn a hole in the floor boards from trying to push on a brake that does not exist on the passenger side! It is hilarious to hear the heckling from 5 other siblings when one cannot fight back while in the driver seat! Great fun

King took some swim lessons

We had the 3 younger kids
dedicated to our Lord

we made a quick 2 day trip out to Texas
to visit with Team Alexander
(sorry you arent in the pic Abe... you
were sleeping!)

Had a fun Halloween!

saw Carrie Underwood
in concert

Kingston has been home now for a solid 5 months. We seem to all be back in the groove and we could not imagine our family without our awesome #6 Kingston! It looks like we may have to put tubes in his ears because he cant seem to rid himself of the ear infections. Once we get the ear infections under control he will have surgery for an undescended testicle. Other than that he is learning quickly (including naughty tricks) and hardly stops talking.

We leave in 8 days for Hawaii. We will be spending most of our winter at our home on the North Shore. The beauty of home schooling!

Blessings to you all
