Pre-Halloween

I can tell already that Halloween candy is going to pose a problem.  Last year she had fun getting it but didn’t really understand.  Her favorite part, though, was actually handing it out to other kids.  But this year is a different story.

This year she was old enough to pick out her own costume (with a little steering from mommy).  She has taken a liking to Tinkerbell so we got a cute costume and a matching candy pail.  Later on that afternoon at home I made the mistake of having her practice the art of “trick-or-treating.”  I had her come up to me, yell “trick-or-treat,” and then I put a piece of candy in her pail.  With each piece she immediately pulled it out and said in the sweetest Liberty voice “open please!”  I know what you are thinking, and yes . . . she has been high on candy ever since.

Should I have been putting carrot sticks in her pail instead?
