Allyn and I are kinda nerdy-planny people. So, due

to our craziness, we have turned it into some fun

and productive traditions... each year the 2 of us

go up to the Stein Erickson lodge for their “Fall
Retreat”. Their rooms are usually like $800+ for

just one night, but during the fall (and the spring),

they have this awesome deal where you can get

a room (with a hot tub on the deck, a fireplace and

an awesome bathroom, I might add), a 3 course

meal for 2 (would cost about $150 if you paid for it

straight out) and discounts on spa treatments for

only $220! What a steal! We go up every year,

do a little “family planning” (assessment, goals,

finances, etc) and then have a TON of fun! The

food is always incredible! The looks and the taste,

the rooms amazing, the views incredible and the

service to die for. We always feel like royalty!  The

pic to the right was our deserts this last time

around (12 layer chocolate cake and

blueberry lemon cake). Oh, we also had

breakfast brought to our room... super

fancy and super yummy!

Here is the fireplace in our room! Not to

mention you have robes, slippers and free

food and water in your rooms! :)

This year we tried out the spa... it was

under construction, so they did all the

treatments in a few of the hotel rooms, so

the prices were fairly cheap. We BOTH

went and got “pedicures”! Yep, even Allyn!

I think his was called “Mountain Foot

Soother” or something a little more

“manly”! :) Don’t our feel look happy!
