Memories of Italy!
9/15/2008- first word, “Hey”... or at least it sounded EXACTLY how Allyn just said it to him!
9/19/2008- 2 month Dr. appt and shots! :(
9/21/2008- bats objects above him with hands
9/22/08- holds rattle
10/10/2008- hold his head up great while on his tummy
10/13/2008- HE GIGGLES!! :)
11/19/2008- 4 month Dr appt. 14.7 lbs and 26 inches long!
11/15-ish: He grabs for things. He knows he wants it, so he tries to get it from you.
11/23/08- Cried when mommy took away her sunglasses from him... she gave in and gave them back! :)
12/9/2008- Kaleb rolls over, from his back to his tummy!
12/12/2008- Kaleb rolls over from his tummy to his back!
12/13/2008- Kaleb tries Rice Cereal for the first time. I am not sure it was his favorite!?
12/15/2008- does pretty good at sitting. Needs a little support and falls forward if not supporting himself, but he is getting there!
12/25/2008- Kaleb’s first Christmas!
1/1/2009- Kaleb’s first New Years. I had put him down to bed and he actually woke up 3 minutes before midnight. He celebrated with us (or looked groggy at us and wondered what we were doing) and then went right back to bed. I guess he didn’t want to miss all the fun!?
1/?/2009- sits on his own great! If he gets off balanced he falls, but does good sitting in just one spot.
1/13/09- Tires Green Beans for the first time. YUCK! He didn’t open his mouth more than a few times. Once he figured out they were gross, that was it. We had to go back to his yummy cereal. We’ll try again.
1/?/09- sits AWESOME now! No support, plays with toys and can get himself back up from bending forward to get a toy.
1/21/09- 6 month appt. 90th percentile for height and only 25th for weight?! I love my tall skinny boy!
1/27/09- seems to point to something he wants. Not sure this is exactly what he is doing, but it sure makes sense to me! :)
2/15/09- He is clapping... kind of. He understands and then sometimes puts one hand to the other. Give him another week and it will be second nature!
2/2009- Pushes off things to crawl. Started to use hands as he pushes.
2/17/2009- Goes from a sitting position to his tummy! He doesn’t understand his knees. So, he goes straight to his tummy. He is very straight legged. For whatever reason, he doesn’t like to bend his knees much. He lays there with his legs straight and tight- you can’t get him to bend his knees and his feet crossed. He is so funny!
2/22/2009- Like I said above, Kaleb hasn’t figured out the whole knee thing, but can now crawl in circles. He drags himself with his arms and pushes with his toes and goes around and around. He can get from one place to another by rocking and reaching forward on each side, but he has now figured out how to drag himself!
2/18/2009- Also, he is talking more and using more consonants. Sometimes I think he is saying “mama”, but I am sure I am just hearing things. But he does say more with “baba”. He is a chatter. Or should I say a screamer. Sometimes he gets so excited and just wants to talk, that he screams. :)
2/26/2009- Waves “Bye Bye” to Daddy! Followed him with this eyes and head as he walked across the room and waved bye bye!
3/2/2009- Pushes more off of the floor with his feet to get somewhere. Uses a rocking motion to get momentum
3/11/2009- Uses arms, toes and sometimes his knee to get across the floor. He is getting there! :)
3/18/2009- He sits up on his own! He uses his knees to back up onto and then sits up. YEAH!
3/20/09- He says his first consistent word... or at least we think so. Every morning as we walk down the stairs, he sees Christ’s picture, raises his hand and says “hi”. I had done this with him a few times and now he started doing it on his own!
4/2/09- Cuts First Tooth!
Week of 4/14/09- Starts to crawl on hands and knees more often. Usually he does the army crawl!
4/12/09- Does the stairs!
4/16/09- Cuts second Tooth!
4/26/09- Crawls on hands and knees most of the time
April- Pulls himself up on ANYTHING.
4/24/09- 9 month appt.
4/25/09- Starts to get the idea of waving and does it just because.
4/26/09- Starts to say momma and dadda on purpose, or at least we think so
May- cruising around everything. Stands on own occasionally, moves from one side of the room to the other so fast, smiles all the time and eating table food most of the time.
May 18- Blows bubbles with mouth saliva?!? Where did he learn that?
End of May- Falls down stairs for the first time... all the way down! :( Mommy’s fault.
June 30- not much new news. Balances awesome, taken 1 or 2 steps, still has just 2 teeth and is still the cutest!
June 30- Oh, he does start to giggle when others around him are laughing and he wrinkles his nose and looks around like he is the funny one.
August 10- Decides walking is his transportation of choice! He has been “walking” for a few months, but just from here to there and only 6-7 steps, but he now is all over the place!
Words he says (or forms of them): Owe, OUT, Uh-OH, Jesus, Mamma, Dadda, No, UP, Truck, Duck, HOT, HAT, Vroom sounds, growling sounds, etc.
