Indian nights

What a day for sailing! Apart from a brief rain shower we’ve had beautiful blue sky and sunshine all day. It’s been an enjoyable ride. With few days of rough weather and constant sail changes, everyone enjoyed the sun and being dry for a change. We found out that we had moved up to 4th position again, which came as a bonus to an already great day.
Not many breakages on this race…so far. We had a winch problem, which we managed to fix. This morning the snap shackle on our Yankee halyard broke and Oscar had a trip up the mast. However, these are just small problems compared to what Durban 2010 and Beyond and westernautralia2011.com had to deal with during the previous race.
Everyone seems to have settled back into the life on board and Hawaii seems like a distant memory. One of the highlights of our daily life has to be the dinner Chris cooked for us last night. Picture the following: a dimly lit galley, Indian music and the smell of curry in the air. A perfect curry dinner with the ambiance to match. The bar is raised now. The mothers to follow will have a tough job beating that.
