Buker School is committed to the health and well-being of the entire student body and staff, and participates in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Comprehensive School Health Program. The goal of this program is to promote a healthful environment, proved assessment of minor illness, administer first aid for minor injuries, prevent the spread of disease and provide recommended screenings. In order to do this, we are fortunate to have a full time nurse.  As the nurse here at Buker, I am present in the school each day to be a liaison between home and school regarding health concerns and to serve as a health resource to you and your child.  As the school nurse, my role includes completing state mandated screenings and providing nursing care and first aide for accidents, illnesses and other medical situations for both students and staff.  I am here to to assist in promoting good health and maintaining a healthy, safe environment for staff and students that encourages a comfortable and productive learning atmosphere.
