Working with Muslim Youth - Using the 'Four Areas Model'
Muslim Youth Skills is pleased to launch 'Working with Muslim Youth - Using the Four Areas Model'
This one day course will enable participants to effectively engage and empower Muslim youth in the context of the Every Child Matters agenda.
Topics covered:
Barriers to access
Every Child Matters
Faith & Culture in the lives of Muslim youth
Needs Responsive & Inclusive Practice
The Four Areas Model
At the end of the course participants will not only gain the skills necessary for effectively engaging Muslim Youth, but will be able to apply 'The Four Areas Model' to engage and empower any disadvantaged and 'hard to reach' groups of young people.

Muslim Council of Britain celebrates outstanding Youth Work
The Muslim Council of Britain held their second Young Muslim Beacon Awards in a ceremony in Westminster on 15th December. The Awards recognise those grassroots community organisations who inspire excellence in their work with young people.
The 2009 winners were the Leicestershire-based BUILD Development Project; the national student body the Federation of Students Islamic Societies (FOSIS), and the disability charity the RADAR Leadership Project. Read More

'Inspire Me' Mentoring project
A mentoring project has been set up to empower young Muslims in Islington that not only develops the young people but leads to positive outcomes for the rest of the community.
Mentors will act as role models and give valuable lessons in a diverse range of areas from discussing high educational attainment to dealing with peer pressure. Mentors will use their stories and personal experiences to raise the aspirations of this disenfranchised community. Read More
