Welcome to my blog.

On March 5, 2009, I joined 18 other women and we rode our bikes across the United States. We started in San Diego and end in St. Augustine, Florida 8 weeks later, on 30 Apr, 2009.

This has been my dream for many years and the adventure is documented in these blog entries.

The trip was organized by WomanTours who provide bicycle trips all over the world and specialize in cross country trips for women.  I traveled with them in Vietnam and Cambodia a few years back for those of you who remember that adventure of mine.  There were 18 of us.  We covered approximately 65 miles per day,  More when it was down hill and less when it was up!  We took a day off a week and stayed in motels, usually with laundry facilities and jacuzzi’s.  The group traveled with a van and a mobile cooking trailer, (and a chef!) so we had fresh prepared food for breakfast and dinner.  Lunch and snacks was on the road.

It’s was not the St Regis, Shanghai, but it was not roughing it either!  Cycling, a shower, a bed every night,  life was good.
