Today is my birthday! It was a very special day thanks to the nicest, most thoughtful person in the world, Carie! I arrived at work with a venti nonfat toffee nut latte waiting for me, plus a yummy piece cinnamon cake! She also had on my table, a vase full of flowers. Ahhh! Wait, there’s more. She and her Stevie made me lunch! Oh and Kinsey wrote me the most hysterical card ever. I LOVE that kid! My mother surprised me at work with a beautiful lily plant that I will kill in a few weeks. Now, both of my kids (who had both forgotten this day) are out doing their own things (lacrosse and hockey). I’m totally ok with it though. I’m getting a few minutes to actually play on my computer instead of work, and it’s very relaxing!

I’m very content tonight, but yesterday was a different story. It all started with a 9:00 am phone call from David, asking if he could stay with his dad for the day instead of coming home. Then when he did get here, he proceeded to call me a “bitch” behind my back. OK, he’s right, but hey, he needs to call me that when I’m NOT around! So by 10:30, I had very maturely slammed a door and went out to my car where I sat in the garage and cried. Kaity and i went out and had some coffee and girl talk. How nice that was! God bless Steven. When he found out that David used the B word on me, well I’m not sure what took place, but I LIKED it! I came home to a son who had completely cleaned his room (including making his bed) and a clean back porch! I have a huge back porch and the kid had really cleaned it all-including picking ALL the weeds! WOW...so my new goal: I plan on being the biggest B in the world! That way, I’ll have a spotless house! YES!

I haven’t blogged in forever so I’m sticking in here something else that’s been going on. I was asked to photograph all of David’s roller hockey league. They wanted me to do the traditional sports thing: magnets, buttons, trading cards, team photos, etc. They LOVED the action collages I had done for all of David’s team members last fall so they wanted those too. Well, I jumped in, dove in, eyes closed, head first, pool empty of water, lake all dried up, you get the point. Anyway, I have taken, organized, cropped, edited and ordered hundreds, maybe thousands of photos this month and I’m only half way done and learning as I fall. Whenever I get over-tired I get sick, so in the middle of all this I developed a sinus infection and a double ear infection. i slept and slept and slept with all these photos hanging over my head. Well, my BED became my office. Take a look.

We went to Orlando on Saturday for lacrosse. It was great because the girls played at the Wide World of Sports Complex. Kaity scored twice and her best friend, Femke, also scored twice. Kaity had an assist on one of Femke’s goals. I love the girls on this team and even though I spent about 7 or so hours in the car filled with teenage girls, high on sugar, I wouldn’t have traded it for the world! The girls are such amazing athletes. Barron won both games and the scores were 20-2 and 20-4. Go Cougars!

I took David to the Strawberry Festival on Sunday. The Festival was quite lame, but David wanted to go because he was meeting a “friend” there. I stayed and so did the girl’s dad and we followed behind them wherever they went. I gave him $40 to spend on games, winning cheap stuffed animals for the girl. He loved every minute of it and thanked me profusely for taking him. I was so grateful that my maturing son was perfectly comfortable with me tagging along. Both of my children are just amazing and I am SO BLESSED to have a good relationship with them. They are changing before my eyes and I have to wonder where the years have gone? I’m so proud of you both!!

So much to be grateful for!
