It all started july 17, 2008 when Li’l Smokey was rescued from the Motion Fire in Northen California by firefighter Adam Deem.
Soon li’l Smokey’s story was told far and wide and people began to gather on the internet and we started watching the story unfold and learned the progress of the severly burned little bear.
Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care had a web site and installed a web cam so we could observe the progress our Li’l friend was making.
The LTWC web site became a meeting place where we would come and exchange thoughts, sentiments, poems, ideas, and keep in touch. We grew to be a family and we were all there because of Lil Smokey.
In February 2009 a group got together and decided to enter Kool April Nites since the car show was dedicated to the firemen and women and Li’l Smokey that year.
we raised some money, had some fun,
and made some lifetime friends.
July 17, 2009 we will meet in Lake Tahoe,
some for the first time.
Smiles and hugs will prevail.
what could be better?
