Oh God, let our worship fuel our passion for missions, until we lose all desire for the American dream, materialism, and a self-absorbed lifestyle. Let us give it all away...just like You did, until Your glory is revealed in the hearts of every nation.

I was never much of a reader, but have learned to become one over the years. Below is a list of books that have been used by God to radically challenge my life and lead me to complete surrender to the will of God.

WARNING: DON’T READ THESE BOOKS IF YOU LIKE YOUR LIFE THE WAY IT IS!! HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE SICK OF MEDIOCRITY, AND HUNGER FOR A LIFE THAT COUNTS....READ ON!!!

NOTE: The best & cheapest place to purchase these books is at www.christianbook.com .

THEOLOGY
“The BIBLE” by God
“Mere Christianity” by C.S. Lewis
“Desiring God” by John Piper
“The Pursuit of God” by A.W. Tozer
“The Knowledge of the Holy” by A.W. Tozer
“Future Grace” by John Piper
“An Inroduction to Systematic Theology” by Wayne Grudem

DEVOTIONALS
“A Godward Life; I & II” by John Piper (God used this one to confirm my calling to start Spirit & Truth )
“The Experience: Day by Day with God” by Henry Blackaby
“My Utmost for His Highest” by Oswald Chambers

THE CHURCH (**Critical Reads)
** “The Present Future” by Reggie McNeil
** “Organic Church” by Neil Cole
“Reformission” by Mark Driscoll
“Let the Nations Be Glad; The Supremacy of God in Missions” by John Piper
“The Story of Christianity” by Justo L. Gonzalez

SPIRITUAL LIFE
“Desiring God; Meditations of a Christian Hedonist” by John Piper
“Don’t Waste Your Life” by John Piper
“Crazy Love” by Francis Chan
“Experiencing God” by Henry Blackaby
“The Friend of God: Abraham” by Henry Blackaby
“The Man God Uses” by Henry Blackaby
“The Power of the Call” by Henry Blackaby
“The Ragamuffin Gospel” by Brennan Manning (overcoming failure)

LEADERSHIP
“Spiritual Leadership” by Henry Blackaby

NOTE: Unfortunately, I don’t recommend a lot of popular “leadership” books because I have found many of todays popular Christian leaders peddling very worldly, corporate principles supported by a few out of context scripture passages. Leadership is not Influence as is commonly taught today. It’s described in Scripture as servanthood. Also, the idea of visioneering or visionary leadership & dreaming big for God is not biblical. God never asks his people to dream big for Him, nor does he need our dreams or our help. If He did, He would cease to be Sovereign & All Sufficient. He already has the plan...for our lives, our generation, our nation, our world. However, HE does choose to involves us for His glory and our joy. He reveals HIS plan, our response is simply to hear & obey.

Blackaby’s book is biblical, thorough, and taken directly from the teachings of Christ.

NOVELS
“John’s Story: The Jesus Chronicles” by Tim Lahaye/Jerry Jenkins
