| While my full time job would best be described as a full time medical student at UNC Chapel Hill in North Carolina, I continue to make furniture in my spare time. I have been building furniture for over 15 years, working mostly with solid cherry, maple, mahogany and birch. My designs have been influenced by my father who builds shaker furniture, my previous degree and training in architecture, and my study abroad experience in Copenhagen, Denmark. I believe that functionality and a truthfulness of construction leads to integrity in a piece. I seek to emphasis the beauty of solid wood by showcasing exposed joints and unembellished designs.
