Long time, no blog

It’s embarrassing how long it’s been since I’ve blogged - months. So much has happened that it’s a little overwhelming to think about blogging it all. The pictures are sitting on my digital camera, the memories are in my head and I’ll take the time to get them posted, but for now here’s a quick webcam pic and a few lines to let everyone know we’re healthy and happy.

Change of Address Information

Now that the folks at Apple have rolled out the mobile me software in conjunction with the iphone, it has changed the address to my blog. My new address is

You may have found that the comments function wasn’t working anymore. By using the new address you will be able to comment again.

Look Who’s Two!

It boggles my mind to think that Ethan is already two years old. He’s so fun at this age though it makes it easier to see my baby growing up. To celebrate his birthday we had a few of his friends over and my Mom and Dad drove up from Salt Lake. We made chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting and the kids played in the sand box, on the swing set, with the parachute, and with balloons - all the things 2 year olds love.

Ethan at Two Years Old

-Says “Dup” when he’s all done
-Loves to watch 101 Dalmations and Backyardigans
-Loves his sandbox and trucks
-Loves to be tickled
-Loves to swing on the swing set
-Is usually awake about 7 am
-Goes to bed between 7:30 and 8:00 pm
-Loves to ride his trike
-Loves his constellation turtle that Great Grandma Ranks gave him
-Loves “Juice”
-If you ask him his name he’ll say “Me!”
-Calls the swing “shoes” and also calls shoes “shoes”
-Points to things like white trucks (which is what Steve drives), the lawn mower, and Steve’s shoes and says “Dadda”
-Is a Daddy’s Boy. He RUNS to Steve laughing all the way when Steve gets home from work and prefers to sit on Dad’s lap at church.
-Is a picky eater, but is doing slightly better

You might notice Ethan’s crazy hair. Grandma Ranks loved the curls, but I felt like it just looked disheveled. Much to my Mom’s dismay Steve cut Ethan’s hair the next morning.

Bubble Head

Gone to the fair
Went to Boise’s Art in the Park and let Ethan eat and inordinate amount of Kettle Corn
Been working on unpacking and settling into our new house. We’re down to working on the boxes left in the garage.
Gotten Ethan a sandbox
Found some great baby sitters (yeah!)
Been getting to know our new neighbors
Been planning Ethan’s birthday party

“The House” in Idaho City

Steve was on the phone with his uncle shortly after we moved here and his uncle told us that we needed to go to Idaho City and get a picture in front of “The House”. He gave us no other instructions of descriptions than “You’ll know it when you see it”. Well if that doesn’t pique your curiosity then nothing will. So with no major plans for Labor Day we decided to drive up to Idaho City and find “The House”. We’re pretty darn sure this is the one he meant because the rest of the town is rather nondescript. “Whoa” is the word that comes to my mind. It’s two parts eye sore and two parts curiosity. If you ever find yourself in that neck of the woods you might want to swing by to take it in first hand.
