A BIG thank you to all of you for providing such GREAT homes!
Good Morning Nicole!!
9 weeks-I would like to start with WE LOVE GUS!!!!!!!!! He is so smart and has such a fantastic personality. The other dogs at home seem to really be warming up to him quickly (I'm very thankful for that). House training is going much better than I would have ever expected.
15 weeks-Gus is doing great!! He continues to grow like a weed and is settling in better every day. Since we last spoke/emailed we have made vast improvements on house training and have had hardly any messes :) He also sits by the door more and more so I know he is making the connection with outside when he needs to go. Last week he had his first herding lesson (it wasn't planned, haha) but Jesse and Joe had some calves get out and he took right after them. I wasn't there but Jesse said Gus rounded them up and they went back in. Jesse also said that he called Gus off of them and he stopped and waited for Jesse, so the drive and discipline is there. At some point I would love to take him to some herding classes for me and for him. I know I would enjoy that and it would be so amazing to see the potential he has really be used. Gus has a way of making everyone he meets fall in love with him. At first I thought it was because he was a puppy but now I realize it is mostly because he is a well behaved puppy with a perfect temperament. Joe (Jesse's dad) doesn't exactly show affection toward pets, but he loves him!!! I think Gus's intelligence is so evident to Joe that he can truly appreciate him. Jesse takes him everywhere and I guess people are just astounded by how well behaved he is. I will send pictures soon!!

I just wanted to let you know we just love the puppy we bought from you! She is one of the smartest dogs we have ever owned. She is a house dog and probably only had two accidents in the house when she was a puppy. She is very loyal, loves to ride in the truck.(front of course) When my husband leaves the house she sleeps with her nose in his slipper. I would recommend your dogs to anyone.

Rodeo is one Awesome dog! Sorry I have not kept in touch better, time is flying by so fast! And Rodie is growing like a weed! He is my heart and soul dog and I don't say that lightly. Every where we go everyone stops and asks us about him. Even my vet whose a man that does not get too excited about everyones else’s dogs is quite in love with him.

Lucca is such a happy dog. She's so cute and so much fun. Jeff and I walk with her over on the trails of the golf course and I've had a variety of people stop me on different occasions and ask about her. Everyone says what a beautiful dog she is. :) They always want to know what breed she is, and then they ask all about Mini Australian Shepherds. I feel like I should be passing out your business cards. :) Lucca is super smart. She's taught herself how to put her front paw up on the door latch of our back door, and she pushes on it to let herself into the house. Pretty amazing! She knows quite a few commands and is a great family pet. We love her!!!

Nov 17, When we got (Gus) home, I took a tour of the property with him, and have spent the afternoon getting acquainted. It's obvious that you have worked with him a lot. He's obedient, quiet, and wants to please more than anything. I took him for a ride in my car, and he just laid there on the seat, fully relaxed. When we arrived at the destination, I told him to stay, which he did, until I walked around the car and opened the door. (My wife would be envious). I want him to do what I tell him, and he did. He's curious, attentive and I really, really like this dog!
Nov 23, Just an update and report on Gus. He's doing just fine, and it seems to me that he is acting way beyond his actual age. He is so well behaved that it amazes me, and he has already won my wife over and she thinks Gus actually likes her more than me. This is good!
So far, no accidents at all.
This dog, Nicole, is not just another good dog. He is special, very special, and I do believe it's because you spent so much time with him while he was very small. It shows in spades. Everywhere I go, everyone I see, cannot believe how he responds to simple commands, and also how handsome he is. Again, he seems much older than five months. He's mellow, yet alert, mild-mannered, yet energetic when appropriate. I don't know if even you appreciate how good of a dog this one seems to be at this point in his life. He is exactly what I had in mind as I contemplated, over many months, whether or not to get myself a dog. Thank you for Gus. He means a lot to me already.
All the best,
Jim
