IRC HANDICAP SYSTEM

All of our Cruiser /Racing classes are sailed throughout the season under the above handicap system.


Boat owners are required to apply yearly for a current handicap rating certificate for their boat and provide a copy to RUYC in advance of racing.


Some clubs in Belfast Lough sail under a PY Handicap system which is maintained by the Belfast Lough Yachting Conference.


RORC Special Regulations


Category 4 is the category appropriate for short races during daylight in mostly warm or sheltered waters.
