Saritha Margon

I was born in Staten Island New York. Raised there and then Los Angeles. I went back to New York City in my early 20s. If New York City were a person I would say  it had the greatest influence on me. I studied with William Brice and Rico Lebrun and for a short while with Hans Hoffman. “Room of Ones Own” has been my mantra for all of my adult life. Louise Bourgeois in her book  Drawings & Observations wrote: “I am interested in cars because they self-propel themselves for reasons that are reasonable and mechanical. So this is it: How am I going to be self-operating all by myself? Well, I can do that if I can invent something that keeps me going.”

To see what I have invented  for myself please click on the top of this page Paintings, Digital Prints or Sawdust Drawings.
